Is being called sweet really a compliment?

I complimented a guy and he said I was sweet, and has called me that a couple times. He's a few years older than me. We have a lot in common. I haven't known him for that long.

Well yeah. Unless you're a fucking Sith Lord or something. Haha. Don't you want to be sweet? But sweet can mean a few things in regards to what he wants. Right. So if you're coming onto a guy he could say "You're sweet." just meaning that he's thanking you for the compliment. Or he could mean that he likes it. And likes you. But it's kind of a lame compliment if he is interested.

Truly sweet people are hard to find... I rarely use that word unless a girl surprises me with how nice she is. I actually just met someone like that. She is amazingly sweet.

hard to tell. sadly some retarded teens use sweet as a insult now a days. and on the other side there are a lot people thinking sweet is a compliment.
if anyone besides your family/friends or girl/boyfriend calls you sweet i would just ask what he/she mean. its rarely used as a insult to girls but who knows.

the problem with sweet is, it sounds like you're "friendzoning" us, because sweet's usually followed up with 'but"

the best thing to do with a guy? compliment his clothes.. or his hair style. why? we want to be shown we're liked for what we've chosen. not for things we can't control, like, our eye color.. just stick with clothes, hair style, or, even shoes
