Single people, how much do you spend a month?

For those of you that don't have to support anyone but yourselves, how much do you typically spend a month? Not including rent, utilities, gas.

I spend my whole paycheck. Im a single mother and we stay alone. I have bills and monthly expenses. I am living paycheck to paycheck... literally. Its not easy.

Yeah just on groceries, eating out, everyday expenses.

I was curious how my spending compared, I feel like I'm spending too much.

Hm I'd say about 400-500 a month. Groceries cost the most.

Low. That's less than $7 per day. As a family of 4, I can feed everyone for less than $7 per day *per person* for sure because it costs only marginally more to feed a whole family as it does one person, but when I was single I don't think I ever came anywhere near that, and that was 10 years ago when food was cheaper. I honestly don't know how I could survive if I were single today, with less than 450 budgeted for food, and I feel like I'd be eating mostly garbage fast food on that amount.

450 is $15 a day. A cheap lunch is almost half of that. How do you make dinner for the remaining $7-8? I could do it, but it wouldn't be easy to have much variety I feel. Eating out would only allow for fast food at that price point. Like I said, that's doable but seems hard to me - I'm genuinely curious what you guys are eating! Especially if $200 per month is a real possibility, I seriously can't fathom that

Well, I buy various meets and alternate on tacos and have a week of pasta only. but I splurge on breakfast for the weekend

Hmm in the ballpark of 300 for food. I buy clothes once a year, about 36 bucks for 12 white/black shirts. About 45 bucks for 3 pairs of hiking pants, 25 dollars for 3 pairs of exercise shorts and socks.
I spend a majority of money on food now nothing more.

Nah man. There are 4 fridays in a month and just as many weekends. Thats like 600 not iincluding takeout.
