no idea what catfish is but I guess if you are sus on someone ask them to send you a pic of themselves with some kind of newspaper article in the pic or something similar
cool I've just learnt something new thanks I know that this is a problem with online everything don't know what people get out of doing that but they must have very little going on in their life
I witnessed some guys online being catfished, reversed searched some emo girl and found the original. Also had a friend who catfished this guy. He was also a dude, then it took a crazy turn and they ended up in a relationship.
Anyone with a basic level of intelligence wouldn't get catfished in this day and age. Video calls and even phone calls are there to stop this. All you have to do is watch one episode of Catfish and you're sorted.
From my experience 3/4 of girls I went on dates with used old photos where they looked better. Not cool. Now I try to only go on dates where all the photos match up so I know what expect. Although I've also been on dates with girls who looked way better than their photos.

Most certainly, I only get suspicious when they’re overly sexual/have bad spelling. If you feel like you’re being catfished hit em with the “FaceTime?” Or “you got Snapchat?” That scares them off lmao
Of course, catfishing will always be a thing since you don't know who someone is online, like for example I could be some old hairy dude, I'm not but it's an example because nobody knows who I am
Yes, happened to a friend of mine on FB just last week. Talked to this guy for months looked like a tattoo model... wasn't him, some old fat guy. 😞🤷🏻♀️
My "best friend" did it to me pretending to be a dude. yes it does, but there are ways to prevent it. if they always have a convient excuse of why they can't face time or send you selfies, RUN!
I don't know if I have, I do get attached to people online, but it's over a long period of time and I've actually met some of my internet friends. You?
I've come across people who have obviously been using someone else's pictures but never a believable catfish. I guess I could have been catfished without me knowing but at least it hasn't lead to anything serious so that I would feel betrayed.
Have you ever done a reversed image search with their pictures? 🤔 I'm sure there are loads of people using "fake" pictures here, too. One of them was recently asking about his looks and someone outed him.
Sorry, the text is in Finnish but basically what you do is you go to Google image search and click the camera icon. Then you get the option to either use a URL or upload a picture to search. Then google searches for the image and you get the results. If it's someone famous or popular on the internet, google will most likely suggest a name. For my picture it suggested "lip" for some reason. 😂
Anyone who pretends to be something their not online has got issues in my opinion. They should seek out pro help. Not to offend anyone, but I think thats a sign of being mentally defective. Just be yourself.
That totally still happens, I think it always will. You need to be able to tell the difference but a lot of people are too ignorant about the red flags to do so.
he said some shit about getting to know me but like wants to do some sexual stuff on Skype and I'm not down for that but the stuff he's asking to do is strange, like I've never been asked about that before lol
It's weird that he would want to Skype if he's a catfish but jumping straight into sexual stuff does sound suspicious. I guess he could Skype with you without showing his face.
Definitely... I'm not down for sex online with strangers so the most we'll be doing is talking... even then I'm still gonna remain guarded just in case

It's just derived from insecurities. If you can't be honest with yourself, you'll never be honest with others.
And yes-- catfishing will probably continue to happen for as long as you and I have a breath of life in this world.

Catfish are people who pretend to be someone else.

some of the really gorgeous guys on this app, I don't always believe it's them and I even ask them. They get offended. So it makes me wonder
Have you ever done a reversed image search with their pictures? 🤔 I'm sure there are loads of people using "fake" pictures here, too. One of them was recently asking about his looks and someone outed him.
I never have, that is fascinating. How do you do that?

Thanks! Next gorgeous guy I see, I will doooo just that!
There are people who will still be naive enough to get catfished.
I have catfished in the past, I will admit. But only to people I knew who had screwed me around.
girls online are the "leftovers" - women should have no issue finding guys offline. online girls are either ugly or crazy.
Anyone who pretends to be something their not online has got issues in my opinion. They should seek out pro help. Not to offend anyone, but I think thats a sign of being mentally defective. Just be yourself.
I know of quite a few women who pretend to be men online simply to avoid being harassed, or treated differently.
I think it might just depend on the place and purpose of what an individual is doing on-line.
@the_keys yea that is a good point
Smart girl!
I think it happens because people either won't go through the trouble or don't really want to know.
Like you said, a simple Google Search is enough to expose 99% of them. 😉

I never let a No Catch of the Day get in my Way.
Good Luck. xx
I've had photos stolen and used to catfish so many times. Its not a nice feeling
I guess it would be kinda flattering, though. But I know what you mean. It's not nice that people are pretending to be you.
It's not at all flattering, it's creepy and kinda frightening
One guy was using Shawn Mendes to catfish people 😂 I called him out and he blocked me. People still do it... I don't think it will ever stop.
Of course it still happens. It always will. That's just human nature. Which is really too bad, cause it messes things up for the rest of us.
That totally still happens, I think it always will. You need to be able to tell the difference but a lot of people are too ignorant about the red flags to do so.
I think a guy on her may be catfishing me lol it's a little suspicious
Why does he seem suspicious? 🤔
he said some shit about getting to know me but like wants to do some sexual stuff on Skype and I'm not down for that but the stuff he's asking to do is strange, like I've never been asked about that before lol
Also he's very hot
Which makes it more suspicious
It's weird that he would want to Skype if he's a catfish but jumping straight into sexual stuff does sound suspicious. I guess he could Skype with you without showing his face.
yea you're right... but he said something about talking first (like w his face) then doing the sexual stuff
so I don't know
He seems just very forward
If I were you I wouldn't do anything you're not comfortable doing. It's good to have at least some level of skepticism towards people you meet online.
Definitely... I'm not down for sex online with strangers so the most we'll be doing is talking... even then I'm still gonna remain guarded just in case
