What is your definition of a tomboy and a girly girl?

Tomboy is into playing sports or some physical activities and can do some stuff for herself, such as mow the lawn and change a flat tire on her car. A tomboy can still dress nice and fix her hair to look pretty and soft.

A girly girl is too worried of breaking a nail and throws a ball "like a girl" for lack of a better term.

In my opinion it has nothing to do with being dominant or submissive in a relationship. A tomboy can still be submissive to her man, and I have seen plenty of girly girls that were very bitchy and demanding of her boyfriend.

I prefer a tomboy that still dresses to look soft and cuddly, but is sporty and fun.

I know girls who are rough & tumble, they enjoy shooting, playing football, going 4wheeling in dirt etc. & I know girls who are delicate & feminine, they enjoy dances, malls, getting their hair & nails done but I personally admire a girl who's bit of both & yes, it is possible, makes her well rounded.

I used to be such a tomboy in high school I would hang out with skaters and punks lol I even used to skateboard myself (not well) I didn't start using makeup until I was 19. Guys saw me as one of the guys, so once I lost my baby fat and I gues "got pretty" the attention was too much for me lol. Right now I'm still a tomboy, I still beat guys at video games and hang out with mostly guys, except now they only keep me around to get in my pants lol. I wear eyeliner and lipgloss and that's about it. I usually wear jeans, a tank, a jacket and some converse or adidas

A girly girl to me would be someone who likes pink, dresses up, gets all gussied up lol, wears heels and can walk in them, gets their hair done, pedicures, listens to pop music has mostly friends that are girls and gets along with other girls better than guys

Girly Girl: A girl who prefers to dress and behave in an especially feminine style, such as wearing pink, using make-up & perfumes, dressing in skirts, dresses and blouses, and talking about relationships and other activities which are associated with the traditional gender role of a girl.

Tom boy to me is not just how they dress, but also the way they act. Sometimes a "tomboy" would be having a relaxed personality not really caring of what others think. And girly girl is more everything precise, having there makeup on spot or more refined.

Tomboy - a girl who is more into traditional male activities like sports, cars video games, camping etc. Usually prefers wearing jeans and sneakers.
Girly girl - a girl who is more into girly activities like shopping, spas, doing their nails, make up etc. Usually wear heels and more fashionable clothes.

I tend to think of them as what the girl prefers.
Girly girls like to be feminine, pretty, etc, things that embrace their feminine side.
Tomboys like more masculine things and tend to shun their feminine side.
Of course, this is very generalized.
