I'm planning to take the behind the wheel driving exam in California next month and need some suggestions on the reversing portion of the exam. The thing is that when I back up I have two hands on the steering wheel while looking over my right shoulder; is this acceptable? I was watching YouTube videos and noticed that mostly everyone places their left hand at 12 o clock and their right hand behind the passager seat while looking back over their right shoulder. I was never taught how to reverse a car in drivers ed so I'm not sure what the proper way of backing up is. For the sake of testing purposes should I only back up using one hand on the steering wheel while looking over my right shoulder?
Lmfao I reverse looking over my left shoulder with one hand on the steering wheel.
Guess I've been doing it wrong.
But if you're taking the road test, always keep two hands on the wheel. I don't know if the shoulder matters.

2 hands, look in your mirrors as you back up. don't look over your shoulder.
