Why don't we say a pair of shirts?

Okay, you guys listen. We call jeans a pair, we call glasses a pair, we call earrings a pair, we call socks a pair but why don't we call t shirts a pair. Has anyone ever thought about this? And shirts have 2 sleeves (just like jeans and leggings have 2 parts for your legs) so why don't we say a pair of shirt.

Cos we don’t wear two shirts at the same time. Maybe a pair of sleeves? I guess it seems weird becAuse jeans cover our legs, and just our legs (and crotch). Shirts cover our entire middle and then our arms so it doesn’t seem like a pair but rather a single thing.

a shirt is more of a solid piece of fabric than pants are. the majority of fabric in pants are in the legs with only a small bit keeping it together in the hip area
