Why do guys wear undershirts under t-shirts?

Does the purpose of an undershirt is to minimize sweat or sth else? Guys, why do you wear undershirts under t-shirts? Actually I don't like them, but anyway, I want to see your reason...

I personally do not wear them but let me explain why most of the guys do... Men wear undershirts under T-shirts for several reasons. Firstly, undershirts serve as an extra layer of clothing that provides added warmth, making them ideal for cooler weather or when you need an extra barrier against the cold. Additionally, they can help absorb sweat and moisture, preventing it from reaching the outer T-shirt. I wear an undershirt ever day... I think at some point back in the 90's wearing a white T under a color T was a thing.

But I wear an undershirt every day, first of all because its classy and that is how I was raised. Secondly, I have thick chest hair, so I do not want chest hair showing... I safe that for the bedroom. Lastly, a tee shirt is like a bra for men, when you wear nicer button up shirts or for work... you do not want hard nipples or anything to be seen through. Again, it's just classy, and hey, I am a classy guy.

Multiple reasons:

1. In colder climates it's an extra layer around the torso
2. It protects the fabrics in your shirt from your sweat, which can degrade it over time (although this is more common with dress shirts)
3. Fashion statements

Purely because I live in England and it gets cold.

Also, it usually looks good or better.

In the winter it is an extra layer to keep warmth in around your core. In the summer it is a sweat absorbed.

Sometimes they are see through, nipples can show more, sweating, you have the option to take off a layer if needed

My friend does because he is always nipping out and got tired of all the jokes. Some wear a tight undershirt to hold in the gut.

Sometimes i wear two t-shirts but only if it's a tad to chilly but still warm enough to not wear a jacket
