Should men always wear an under-shirt with a button up?

I ran out of white and black tees, so I decided to just wear a button up with nothing underneath. I always thought the right way is to wear a T-shirt under a button up.
What do you think?

The "right way" is to wear an undershirt under one's dress shirt.

But this undershirt doesn't usually have the heft associated with a normal T-shirt.

This is because it is not meant to be worn as a T-shirt, but solely as an undershirt.

For me, the main purpose of the undershirt has always been to absorb sweat, to prevent that sweat from getting onto your more expensive dress shirt.

I always prefer V-necks for my undershirts for the simple reason that if I'm not wearing a tie, there's no visible - and ugly - neckline to be seen peeking out of your dressier dress shirt. I feel that this creates a more aesthetically pleasing overall look.

I used to have about 20 different under shirts. Now its down to about 6 haha.

That is rather strange... I can't imagine myself wanting to wear another man's undershirt!
You might as well wear another man's underwear!

From the time I was a kid, my mom always had me wear an undershirt when I wore a button up. I never questioned it.

When I wound up with a great job in my late 20s I had to wear a shirt and tie. At some point, a friend told me that a girl in the office had asked why I wore an undershirt. It was the first time I had ever thought about it. Why indeed? I looked around and didn't see anyone else wearing them.

That's when I quit wearing undershirts and realized that I was more comfortable.

But it’s a bonus

Hmm I’m partial to crew neck in guys. Makes the shoulders and neck look really balanced and out together

White if it’s a white or light color shirt

black if it is black or dark colored.

In thrust but personally I just dubs white crew t shirts unbelievably hot

Like when the guy is done work and
Unbuttons his shirt rolls up his sleeves and the t shirt is the all white and smooth - I just love it. Like it looks put together , casual, gentle, strong, peaceful, serious , responsible, playful - all in one. Just love it lol

Tbh, i find layers very attractive as well. Its easy to look sexy, but look well-dressed and tasteful? that takes class <3 Also what people dont realize is that, well-dressed=Sexy/Hot

I guess white for light colors and black for dark colors. Maybe crew for cold weather and v for hot weather lol
