How come he didn't remember my name?

so this guy approached me first and seemed really interested in me. now he stares at me A LOT. like all the time. and the very first day I didn't even tell him my name he just knew it because he said my name and asked me a question. well I sat behind him and he would turn around and stare at me every five seconds. he asked if he could copy my paper and smile at me. I just said sure. and then I asked if he would turn it in for me and he smiled and said" yeah with pleasure" and winked at me. then he came back and said" hey what's your name again? I'm sorry I forgot." with a smile. and I said my name and then said" I can't believe you forgot it" and he said" sorry short term memory bro. ill remember it next time I promise" and smiled.

I wouldn't read too much into that. he may have forgotten or he was just making polite conversation. The important point is that he's interested.
