Are athletic girls actually attractive?

Question

no i don't mean girls who are bulky as eff. i mean girls who love sports, really enjoy working out, exercising, training, are into nutritional stuff (aka don't just live on junk or don't even eat junk)

i am this type of girl and i see and hear so many guys disliking athletic girls. my 2 majour questions are:

1) why is a girl who's athletic, fit, toned, etc gross or really odd to guys (lots say it is gross and/or odd)?

2) is it actually unattractive and if so, why?

Well, guys who are lazy bums who need to feel physically stronger than a woman won't be attracted to a girl who takes care of her body and sculpts it! Plus, it is added pressure on the guy to match the physique of his partner, a partner who can easily find another man at the gym! I think it adds another level of insecurity to the guy. Plus, how many women who actively work out will be content with men who are lazy and don't work out their own bodies? Also, if such men have no interest in taking the time to go to the gym, how can such a couple stay together when they have seemingly conflicting personalities?

For me, working out started in 5th grade when you were laughed at by the boys who could climb the gym ropes to the ceiling and then back down. If you couldn't do it, our militant like gym teacher would have you do push-ups. As a pudgy boy I made it as far as halfway before my arms gave and I slid down the rope, rash burning my hands which later blistered during the day. I vowed to climb to the top of the ropes and with nearly daily push-ups, by the seventh grade, I had enough upper body strength to finally do it, and those guys never joked with me again, having earned my "little boy guns" on my arms and "man boobs".

Working out always made me feel great, it makes me look great, and it boosts my self confidence! So, when it comes to girls who work out, I would LOVE THEM, it is one activity we can enjoy together as we take the time to bond with each other. That is what I need with a girl, that bonding time not including sex, lol.

In my opinion, sporty & fit & athletic & toned girls are the most attractive of all.
1. Only insecure and conservative guys don't like them because the are either afraid of them, or they are obsessed with outdated social constructs like "femininity" and "masculinity" (they think that athletic girl would "emasculate" them).
2. Fit and toned girls are usually very attractive, but it depends, just like in any other category. It's not unattractive unless the girl is overly muscular, like some kind of steroid monster.

Girls who are athletic, are always fit and toned because of regular exercise and they are never gross or really odd to guys. Regular Exercise is always advocated for fitness of body and mind. A fit person always looks different and more active from ordinary - non exercising person - male or female. Good health itself is a good reason for good and enjoyable life, and for making dears and nears happy. To me athletic girls were always hot and I have enjoyed their company during my post-graduation - socially and communally. Most of them have an extra thing for life attitude - sportsman-sprite. They easily let go many things and tolerate some mischief.

I'm that kind of girl and never had any problem turning a guys head! A lot of guys like it when you can shoot hoops, play softball, golf right along with them on a competitive level, I know my guy and his friends do. I frequently hear a lot of these same guys wishing their girlfriend or wife liked playing a sport or, two with them! I grew up in the middle of two brothers, I had to learn to compete with them, didn't hurt being a bit of a tomboy either.

I'm not especially athletic or fit, so someone who is a gym rat isn't likely going to share my lifestyle. But fit girls are great as long as they aren't overly thin or overly muscled.

I've dated dancers (ballet/jazz/tap) and a former gymnast, and they were pretty athletic, but still feminine and not emaciated-looking like some of the ballerinas. That's fine.

I have ZERO attraction to the female body builders or wrestlers or "washboard abs" girls - that's way too masculine for me.

Here are my answers in order:

1. Women are supposed to be chubbier than men in order to sustain a baby. A woman who is toned is not a natural looking woman. You're supposed to be a little bit jiggly! Just find a balance. Just like the boobs vs butt thing; we want you to look proportional.

2. A toned woman is not especially unattractive, but she doesn't look like she could make a baby too well either. Men are hardwired to look for a woman who seems like doesn't do a ton of running around.

Personally I find athletic girls attractive, but as for why others might think it gross or odd, is because it certainly isn't thought to be stereotypically feminine. Granted I can't say I've ever heard any of my male friends say that athletic girls are odd or gross.

I think you're listening to the wrong guys. I love athletic women. I used to be very athletic until things took my time up. But I still love playing sports and being active. As well, athletic women are really good in bed. I find them really responsive and uninhibited and they like to explore more and get more messy. And of course, the obvious, the bodies are better. So, whatever guys you are referring too, they don't know what the fuck they are talking about.

The guys that say that athletic girls are unattractive are talking about girls with big biceps and six packs... you said you aren't that type so you are attractive. Healthy girls are sexy, matter of fact my dream girl is a girl that wears yoga pants and excercises with running sneakers. Even if the girl isn't that pretty, if she excercises and is positive about her health and attitude it makes me turned on. I don't see many of them outside running around because its winter right now... I Miss them. I will approach one in 2018 for sure. :D

I'm not nearly that guy so while I can appreciate someone who puts in as much effort as you, and agree you look fab, it's always going to be wasted in my lifestyle and it's not where my interest lies.

I have never heard that a toned body type isn't attractive. Guys generally like girls who take care of themselves. They're going to look better generally if they are active. I guess there's some exceptions but it's few and far between.

I always prefer sporty girls, so yes, athletic girls are very attractive in my opinion, Allison Stokke is one of the best examples, she is 10/10 in my book ;)

I like girls who are fit and toned, but not extremely muscular.

My favorite examples are girls who practice martial arts, team sports, athletics and gymnastics.

I never liked girly girls, my type of girls are more tomboyish (but not butch).

Think of girls of action, like Lara Croft or Xena.

It depends on what you mean by athletic. If she is still feminine looking (and behaving) then it's all good.

If you keep one thing in mind, you will always be fine. Men like feminine women. And despite what many women seem to think these days, you don't get to change the definition of what is considered feminine. Nature decided that a long time ago and it's not going to change anytime soon.

It depends on multiple factors. Does she have a small butt or small boobs? Is she overly muscular? Is she too skinny? Etc. From what I've seen atheltic women are just as broad as nonathletic ones; there are sexy ones, ugly ones, and plain ones.
