The title is pretty self explanatory. So I asked myself this question when I came across this photo on the internet: I thought the photo was funny, weird, and ridiculous all in one. I swear, the woman who took the photo has no respect for her boobs once so ever, lol! Now whenever someone sees her show cleavage, they'll think of a guy's butt crack, lmao. She'll never get a boyfriend! And she's not unattractive... she could get a guy pretty easily if she wanted to... but that photo totally ruined her reputation.
But the photo itself got me thinking the title question: why are cleavage cracks considered sexy, but ass cracks considered gross? I myself fit into this category, but I don't really know why. Before I saw she was equating her cleavage to the dude's butt crack, I found her cleavage sort of sexy, but was instantly grossed out by his butt crack.
My take on it is that it's because of how cleavage cracks and butt cracks are represented... cleavage cracks are usually shown on sexy women, while butt cracks are usually shown on chubby out of shape plumbers.
However, if butt cracks were more often represented by sexy women wearing low rise jeans and shorts, I doubt they'd be considered as gross.
Why are cleavage cracks considered sexy, but ass cracks considered gross?
Before we walked on two legs, males were attracted to "ass cleavage", as it was what you saw approaching a woman on all fours. When we started walking upright, breasts took over as a male focal point (you aren't approaching bent over women very often from behind, but cleavage will be staring you in the face). This is why cleavage resembles an ass crack in many ways. It's biology, and it's evolution. If you asked a bunch of people still walking on all fours, they'd wonder what you're talking about, as women did not need attractive breasts when they weren't standing up.

Probably because with fully naked asses you're getting ready to have sex... but with a little part, it's probably just a sleazily dressed person.
And so you just feel neutral about cleavage, eh? Well assuming you're a straight woman, that's the best way to feel. You don't see them as gross, but you also don't see them as sexy. If you did see them as sexy, it could be possible you're not absolutely 100% straight, lol.

Lol, yeah, the "crack" part is sort of unnecessary now that you mention it, lol. The word "cleavage" by itself already means the crack created in between a woman's boobs when supported by a bra.
And yeah, cleavage is indeed pretty hot. Unlike butt cracks, the big majority of the time.
There can, assuming the top itself is tight, like a tank top or a tight dress... but if the top is loose, it's a lot harder for to be a crack. Boobs are naturally not that close together.
Well different places, different rules, lol. Where I live in public pools and beaches that's not allowed. They would tell you to wrap a towel around you, put on shorts, or wear a different swimsuit.
But in general, yeah, you're right. It covers the genitalia and the butt hole, that's all that matters, really. Your butt cheeks are entirely exposed, but butt cheeks are just skin... they're not dirty or anything.
No i go to the beach all the time, sometimes i go and take of my bikini so i dont get tan lines. Thats allowed as long as you lay belly down in australia
By take off your bikini, you only mean the top, right? As long as your belly is down, it doesn't matter if your top is off. I see that even where I live, sometimes... it's not super common, but I've seen a few women do it. However, if you mean your bottoms too... a thong bikini is one thing, but seeing your entire bare ass would be pretty weird... lol.
Also, BE CAREFUL with tanning... even if you wear sunscreen, you're not 100% cancer free if you tan excessively. Or if it's not cancer, you'll have 65 year old skin when you're like only 45. I wouldn't want a pretty girl like you to damage her lovely skin.
Tanning in general is good, but too much is quite dangerous...
