If ignorance is a bliss why do we seek knowledge?

We are also curious by nature. We're only human, we're built to think and solve problems. Thomas Jefferson knew this well, for he was founding father, an innovator, thinker and genius, ahead of his time. He truly left a legacy behind, for he consistently sought out new ideas and brilliant methods, and ultimately the beginning of what we know as the United State's Declaration of Independence, as well as the US Constitution. These documents both established the United States as an independent nation.

ignorance may be bliss but it doesn't mean you are immune to being hurt. knowledge comes with the burden of dealing with the negatives of being aware but it also helps you avoid pain, deal with pain, and fully understand and have a greater appreciation of happiness

We seek knowledge because we want the power and authority to do what we want without thinking what the consequences of having that responsibility. Anybody can get knowledge. But how many have wisdom? Not many.

Ignorance is a bliss. And most people are happy with it. Like religious people are happy and the people who are seeking knowledge are sad because the more you know about things and the world and the more you know that everything is just a prespective and can never be proved right. So why bother.

It doesn't refer to being ignorant to knoledge it refers to society:
Ignoring an ugly person for example does little to insignificant demage then taking advantage of him or trying to be nice.
Same thing when someone insult you or a thing you own is better to ignore as they are looking forward to a battle.

Ignorance is bliss but ignorance is almost impossible to obtain. You can turn a blind eye, but deep inside you know what's going on. You're either born blissfully ignorant or you're not. If you're not blissfully ignorant you might as well find out as much as possible.
