If you have an intimate relationship transperancy is important. Hiding behind the bush doesn't serve relations. If you are busy and can't answer on time you will say so if you need to explain. If you make the person think that your message has not been read and don't consistently answer that's not a relationship. Relationship is communication and understanding. If you haven't got much time say so. Businesswise it maight be useful but still would make a customer irritated I think.
