Dogs yapping after accidentally stepping on their paw or something, Eliza from hamilton screaming after Phillip died, the "sugar, butter, flour" at the end of waitress, the eerie: "aaaand gooodneess knoooowwws the wicked diiiieee allooonee" right befoew Elphaba "dies" in wicked, my baby cousin crying when i tried to put him on a changing table because his mom lets him sit in dirty diapers at restaurants so he thought i was going to leave him there instead of changing him.
I was living in a hotel and so was a blind man next door whose wife had just left him he was an alcoholic he pretty much try to drink himself to death and at night you could hear him willing through the walls it was the saddest sound I ever heard in my life my heart aches for him I could feel his pain through his crying
The saddest sound to me is my mother crying.. from the abuse she suffered. My big brother crying. My young niece crying. My little sister crying.

There's a youtuber named Jaclyn Glenn who I adore & she was tearfully weeping in this video because a guy shattered her heart, I felt fucked up that whole week, because the pain was palpable & I felt for her. That might not have been the exact saddest sound but it's definitely the saddest sound I remember.

The sound which surrounds us...
This sound contains the sadness, and I would prefer to call this sound as sadness itself...
The silence, the grievance, the mourning... everything is in it..!

When I was young around 8 or 9 years old, my mother passed away and it hit my father harder than anyone else which lead to him having a drinking problem for a bit, but his reaction to it is just something you can't forget. He doesn't drink anymore though and is married to someone else now.
Definitely hearing your parents cry.
I've only seen my mom cry three times in my how life. All of the times I had seen her cry, it was for awful traumatic reasons.
