I feel like the cello has a unique sound and such a wide variety of applications. I'm not sure how many kinds of music wouldn't benefit from the addition of a cello.
I was tempted to choose this. It is so complicated looking. Used in klezmer and merengue for example, totally different styles. My bulgarian tennis teacher played it. I think there is a lot you can do with this.
I am the world's okist bass player. i wasn't bad 25 years ago when I played a lot. I've just started again. It sucks losing you chops and having to start over.

Violin cause I've been learning it since school but could no longer afford lessons so my skill has stayed the same for a few years
Will you persue it after you can afford it?
Once I can afford it again definitely but I had to sell mine to pay rent

Piano, it's always been my dream to play for my future children while they play or draw. It gives an elegance and loving feeling to everything.
Drums, I think it is probably the only instrument I would never be able to attain decent skill in, despite the efforts.
I'd choose the hang drum, which is technically a percussion instrument.
I always thought the sound of it is mesmerizing.
Piano. I already know how to play guitar but with my singing voice I could write some great songs playing the piano.
Piano. I always wanted to play, but have very tiny hands so it was hard to learn and I gave up. I was however very good at the alto sax.
Guitar. Because you can carry one with you to a event and for some reason it does score points with the ladies.
I'd love to be able to play guitar and i've actually never tried to learn, so i might at some point.
Piano, to me it's so beautiful and playing it would be so relaxing
I personally find string instruments the hardest but I would love to be able play the guitar
Piano :) my reasoning is because piano is very calming and relaxing.
Courtesy reminder that piano falls under percussion for those who want to vote with piano in mind.

Just one!
I can't chose just one, that's why I said or instead of and
But Genie grants flawlessness in only one instrument...
Piano, I love the sound of pianos. They have such an elegant and graceful melody.
Accordion. My grandma's oldest sister played it when I was a kid, I'm very in love with this instrument.

And it is so unique now in America.

@PeterB1517 Yes there is. You can play thousands of styles with it and it will always sound good.
Harp. It's my favorite. Beautiful and sooooo pretty sounding
I already play drums flawlessly and I am good enough on the guitar so I would choose something from the "keyboards family"...
Guitar because I know men who can pick up women with that skill.
