So in case anyone hasn't figured this out, this IS a joke question. It's intended purpose is pretty much to demonstrate how correlation doesn't equal causation. Anytime someone tries to just bring up this example to show how foolish they are.

😂😂😂 the data is inconclusive because of the variables and undocumented conditions surrounding the experiment. For example, there is more ice cream consumed because it is hotter outside and, in consequence to the heat, more people are out swimming at the beach, thus leading to a higher likelihood of shark attacks completely unrelated to the ice cream, but rather to the warm weather and numbers of individuals on the beach at a time.
Probably because of temperature increase. More peeps buying ice cream and more going into the water at the beach, as temp increases. Same with crime, but the relationship has been found to be spurious. As ice cream sales increase so does crime, but that’s only because a third factor, temp, wasn’t accounted for. It wasn’t the ice cream causing the increase in crime or vice versa, but increase in temp.
I'm thinking that ice cream creates fat ass and sharks like the bigger ass to bite ( I guess that makes them assbites?) so that is why ice cream feeds sharks.
I have noticed that there have been no sharks at the beach when I've been to the beach and I associate that with the fact that I've never worn lycra to the beach.
Oh okay. I thought maybe more people were eating ice cream because of hotter weather, so I thought it was the hotter weather that was causing an increase in shark attacks, not the ice cream
