Ehhhh, I'd say it depends... maybe with latent homosexual tendencies? I'm a heterosexual male too and I can't tell if another man is hot or not at all...
But...
I can tell if people are obese or not, male or female, in general. And what I see around me is that usually women, on average, are more obese than their male counterparts. ... I'm not trying to be mean ladies... it's just for every 1 extremely obese dude I see, I've already seen 10 or 20 extremely obese women.
Since I believe that physical fitness does play a part in attractiveness... I'm guessing your perception, as being able to judge if a guy is hot or not, has something to do with the average fitness levels.
Probably has a lot to do with physical labor jobs, who usually does them... or even if they don't work at all, what they are more likely to choose to use free time for? -
