  • My non-existent 16 year old daughter wouldn't put herself into such a predicament. I'd raise her better than that. Girls that get pregnant out of wedlock are usually brought up in suffocating homes or broken homes. I'd be a type of father that would be my daughter's best friend and teach her the necessities of survival in this world.

But, if she did, I'd disown her and damn well wouldn't throw her a baby shower. If she had one, I wouldn't attend it.

  • No, I wouldn't do that. This is not the ideal time and the ideal situation to get pregnant, so there's nothing to celebrate.
I would just support her the way I could.

  • Would I be mad? As her dad, yes.
Would I be disappointed? As her dad, hell yes.
Would I disown her? As her dad, no.
Would I throw her a baby shower? As her dad, no. But right at the moment she was born, I promised to be her best friend, so yeah, I would throw her one then enroll her to a parenting class.
I want her to be responsible for her choices.

    • No, parents need to stop acting like friends and act like parents

    • @qwert1234 it’s called repercussions.

    • Why did she get pregnant

  • Nothing wrong with teenage pregnancy at all. Young girls can make excellent mothers and the baby has fewer health risks than with an older mother.

    • If she can’t pay bills or buy food, then she has no business having sex.

    • Yeah you got a fair point but depending on the family arrangements it can work out well. I know a couple of teenage mothers who've done a great job

    • Yeah i guess

  • Many judgmental people here. It isn't the baby's fault.

If a 16 year old girl moved in next door to me with a baby, it would be a very big blessing if somehow I came to be seen as an unofficial grandfather.

What Girls Said 1

  • Doubtful but then I don’t even want a baby shower for myself so I wouldn’t really be throwing one for my daughter. They seem kinda overrated
