I don't know what the word would be, but what it would mean is "a person you are in a long-term committed relationship with but not married to". That's the situation I'm in and the two of us don't really like any of the words that are currently available to us.

We kind of like "covivant" but hardly anyone knows what that means so we can't really use that. I'd like to invent a word that almost everyone would know to describe our relationship.

I had never heard of it either until someone suggested it in response to my question. The definition does match our situation pretty well, but it doesn't help us much when almost no one knows what it means. If it was commonly known, we'd use that.
