Is 32dd considered big? why is the alpha size of it is small?

I've never owned a sports bra before and when i tried buying i brought a medium and a large one to the fitting room and the staff laughed at me i didn’t know whats the equivalent alpha size was so it was just a complete hunch. I thought 32dd is considered big.

When talking about bras, the number doesn’t mean as much if you’re talking about how big the boobs are. DD is gigantic as far as I’m concerned. To be honest anything D cup and bigger is gigantic to me

34DD is the average American bra size but that is based on a 2013 survey. I am not sure if that has changed.
