Why do Canadians hate Quebecois and newfies from Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador?

As a Canadian we don't exactly hate Quebecois we do hate the attitude Quebecois have. If you don't know you can look it up years ago a bunch of business (like a big ton) left Quebec because they are very I guess you can say racist towards English speakers. They make Quebec to the point where if you don't know French you have a hard time living in Quebec but every other area of Canada always has to be accommodating to Quebec. We literally teach French in elementary school, we have french signs, we have transitions for French people but Quebec? none of that for English speakers. They use the excuse to protect their dying culture and this is the clash and why it seems hate when it pretty justifiable to not want to tolerable their bullshit anymore. Newbies hate ummm have you met one? I'm sorry but a shit ton of Newbies are freaking most annoying Canadians I have ever met.

Quebec also gets more funding from the government. They get tax dollars to paint their barns. They have more seats in government and don't really offer much to the economy, yet we dump lots of money there and ignore other countries. When Alberta suggested the pipeline go through Quebec the federal government shut it down right away, yet they keep trying to get it going through NC

I don't think they hate each other. Canada is a big country and there are big differences between the West and the East and especially between Quebec and the rest of the country.

Nobody hates Newfies. But they are the target of jokes. They’re the generic “dumb redneck” in Canadian jokes.

Seal hunting is a thing there. Canadians who support hunting in general are relatively supportive.

Quebec is a linguistic minority political block in Canada. On the one hand they cannfeel oppressed. On the other they can ask for special treatment to offset this. Some groups get frustrated that Quebec gets special treatment and then still complains. This is probably similar to how with minority groups elsewhere people argue about whether more should be done for them or whether they’re already getting too much special treatment.

On the west coast we just joke about the Québécois as there’s so few here. I don’t think most actually hate them though, I just have tended to find them abrasive so haven’t enjoyed their company for the most part.

Everyone loves Newfies, no idea why you think we hate them :p they’re the happy go lucky Irish of Canada (by stereotype).

Now don’t get me started on Toronto or Ontario :p

Newfoundlanders are far from hated, if anything I'd say that they're near universally loved. Quebeckers though are kind of like the political spoiled child of our political landscape. Ever since the Quebec Act passed in parliament in the 1770s they have had preferential treatment. That's part of why the American colonies even had a revolution.

Because of this long history of special treatment, they want that special treatment to continue into the modern age, despite Canada having been an independent dominion since the 1860s. Hell, they still haven't signed off on the current Canadian constitution, and are the only province that can violate the Canadian charter of rights of freedoms. It's a crock of shit

I stand with my French speaking brothers and sisters. Quebec have all my respect for being very nice and polite people. It's very honorable for them to defend their heritage and I'm very proud of them.

We have no problem with Newfies, but Quebec hates the rest of Canada and would happily separate, it’s just returning the sentiment
