I would have to see an opening... if there isn't one right now at gun point... then obviously doing anything will get you shot... a chance is always a chance so id go and see if there is an opening after
however you have to be careful, cause your opening might actually be better right now at gun point then later, depending where this psycho keeps you, you might never get a good chance later on...
so then the question becomes, do you want to risk it now and potentially die or dont die and get tortured and maybe one day make it out alive, in pieces but alive
--> assessing all that within seconds, if I find an opening that seems possible ill take it... if not I dont know, I'm not sure what my natural instincts would be
Run. In many cases criminals don't want to add murder to the charges. Many won't shoot. If they do, most people aren't particularly good shots. Often times criminals are almost as nervous as their victims. It's not unheard of for people in crime situations to fire and miss even at ranges of 10'.
I'm guessing a lot of people who say they would fight and come up with elaborate strategies on how they would escape or overpower their attacker have never been in a fight.
I'd do the only sensible thing, which is go with them. They have a gun to my head, I can't fight them off, why would I attempt to and risk being shot? There's no way I'm quicker than someone who has a gun with a finger already on the trigger. Even Usain Bolt wouldn't be fast enough to escape that one.
After that I'll just keep an eye open for opportunities to escape, if they let their guard down or anything else happens where I can actually get away. Or try and get us to a public place if the opportunity comes up. It's unlikely, but it gives better odds of survival than being shot for attempting to fight back.
Oh, and this is also the exact same advice actual self-defense teachers give when faced with an armed opponent. Even actual practitioners of martial arts know their skills are usually no match against a gun.
I'd accept it and go with them... for the following reasons...
1. If you got shot in the head you will most likely die or face serious life altering consequences. The story essentially ends there...
2. If someone pulls a gun on you... they would have thought it through and will take you by surprise at the instant... you won't have enough time to adequately respond or think it through.
3. If you comply with them you can put them in to a false sense of security and it will give you time to think of your next moves and possibly still plan an escape.
4. There is a chance you could possibly survive the torture ordeal.
5. If you survive the torture ordeal you can still exact revenge on them later on..
6. If you survive and/or escape... you could potentially sell the story later on and make money off it...
All those outcomes seem better than being shot in the head to be honest... it's a rather uneventful and wasteful way to die..
Go with the flow look for opportunities to reverse the roles under my control. That is by physically tricking them. It has to be either fast but the build up slow. Then wham I am the aggressor they are my captive.
Or let them tie me up but by then I’d have to set them up to be caught by police. That’s the gradual build up. Except in scenario 2 I don’t act quickly. It’s timed.
For plan 2 to take effect, one must have necessary communicative tools to route law enforcement whilst acting innocent and naive in captivity.
I'd take my chances and try to stop him the moment I see an opening.
Pays to be trained in martial arts, including weapon disarmament, weaponry and being able to turn most items laying around into weapons.
If he is extremely close then the chances of me being able to take the gun away or just flat out kill him or knock him out are more in my favor.
Besides you don't want to let them take you to another location because you have a higher chance of being killed there since they'll probably take you someplace quiet and abandoned, perfect place to get tortured or killed.
Id take my chances with a bullet. Id scream, try to knock the gun away or attack him if he was close to me, if he was further away id run and be a moving target while praying they had poor aim.
If i get shot maybe i wouldn't die immediately and they may leave and someone will hear it and call the police. Whereas if i let them take me somewhere isolated id have no chance of getting help at all.
If all that fails and i take a bullet straight to the temple that's at least a fast and painless way to go, better that then being raped and dying of blood loss while getting cut to pieces by a chainsaw.
I'd tell them, "I'm not going with you. You wanna shoot me, shoot me. But think about it, if you shoot me for refusing to go with you, you will spent the rest of your life in prison. If you let me walk away right now, I MIGHT go to the police, but I might not. Even if I DO, you'll only maybe get 10 years for attempted kidnapping, vs life in prison or even the death penalty. Choose wisely, bye."
You're still getting kidnapped so your speech would be pretty useless and they wouldn't even let you speak that much. Guys that do this are pretty agressive in general
@alice55 I'm just trying to keep myself from getting shot in the head though. But you're probably right. They'd probably tell me to shut the fuck up, and just knock me on the head.
Evidence of like crimes show they will probably kill you anyway once they get you in their control and in a quiet place where they can do anything they want to you. Then to hide their crime and eliminate witnesses they will kill you. So you may as well go out fighting because you actually have a better chance in living if you do than to go along quietly without notice, instead of screaming and fighting.
You don't even have time to realize you were shot before being dead.
On the other hand, you very well realize what kind of tortures you may be subjected. The power of the imagination knows no limit.
I could probably survive waterboarding, pulling of the nails, severing fingers or limbs but the most fearful torture would have to be forced to have intercourse with the kidnapper.
That would kill me instantly but I would still have to endure the mental torture of what torture they would subject me before acting on it.
Dying for dying, a bullet is faster than being force to have intercourse.
I went with the latter option because it had "possibly" in it. I took that to mean that there might be some chance, however small, that I might be able to escape, wrestle the gun away, etc. I'll always take a chance of success to a guaranteed failure.
if I had an idea that they were taking me to kill me, I would find a way to escape right there but if I had an idea that they were just going to confine me somewhere I would take the safer route. Basically in the moment I would do the safest option. Now if we said I would get tortured and killed then option one for sure
See I chose the dumb option. I'd go with them. But let me explain. If I was with friends and they pointed the firearm at me and said that they all live if I surrender and come with, then I'd go, if indie during the torture then awesome. If I live through the torture then awesome I'd be stronger than before have a cool story. If i can escape and or apprehend them and put them through their own torture then me Gusta I'm going to have fun! But yeah I'd sacrifice myself for others.
Hmm I wanna say I would tell them to just shoot me but I would probably go along with it. If I refuse I'm 100% gonna die right there. If I let myself get kidnapped, there is a chance I could get away. But if I knew exactly what they had in store for me and I knew it was more than I could handle or live with after, I might tell them to just kill me
Technically option 3 a swift kick to the groin with a grasp of the gun to reverse position to a non threatening manner. Followed by a punch or kick to the throat or face. Before pulling either my knife or gun. To let him I am not to be messed with. I will then secure his arms and legs and neutralize his weapon. While calling the cops.
I ain't going anywhere with anybody. I would yell at him to shoot me... lie to him and say I have terminal cancer bitch... I don't give a fuck. Shoot me.. come on!
Refuse and risk getting shot. Never willing let them take you to a second location. You fight scream make all the ruckus you can, gun or gun they are out of there not risk getting caught, they'd rather wait it out for their next victim.
I'm not going with them, whatever they want, they want me alive, or they would've killed me already, if they shoot me anyway when I refuse to go with them, whatever they wanted is gone, and they just killed me and got nothing. (Also, very likely, you will be disposed of anyway if you give in)
I would refuse, but strategically. You see, guns are meant to be used at a distance. If they're close enough to you to touch, then you are more dangerous to them than they realize. Take the weapon. Give them a metallic enema.

Id be carrying a gun at all times. Every 3 seconds in america this happens. In one year 650,000 people disappeared. Im looking into guns now. I've had problems because gangs are all over the street here. Agree and as soon as he messes up shoot him. Its legal. I want carry my gun under my shirt sleeve in holster. The papers are full of bad events like these.

Refusing just ends your life right then and there. Going with them at least buys you some time. since moving gives them less of an advantage it might be easier to escape or possibly wound or kill them if need be.
Martial art s training from years ago based upon data. Better off dead on the spot than submit to their whims. Use all your faculties of whit amd skill.
I would take the bullet and hope they don't rape my corpse. I'd rather leave a dead body in my home for my mother to find than a missing child and then likely abused and mutilated body dumped in a river somewhere for her to identify two months later...
Kidnapping are usually related to ransom and torture. I would not go with them... that would give them opportunity to find my family/friends for money. If I died, my family will be sad, at lease they will not get hurt/torture by them.
They can take my life and I will tell them if killing me helps them become a better person in anyway or form I will scrafice my life.

I have a thing about guns. At that point, they win. I'd go with them and wait for a more reasonable opportunity to fight or escape. Not gonna just get shot.
Within these 2 options I would comply. I can go about 80 hours with no sleep so I would eventually find an opening and destroy my kidnappers. Realistically when someone holds you at gunpoint they stay within reach to try to conceal from others what is happening. They count on you freezing up at the sight of a gun. I do not have this fear so I could disarm them. Assuming 1 kidnapper. 2 or more I would comply and wait for my opening.
Well if they shoot you then you're just dead.. if they kidnap you than likely they want something with you, for males I can see this being a non-issue, but females are probably likely to be raped and used as sex slaves. Torturing would be horrible for anyone really. I think I'd try to escape any way I could, even if it means fighting back and potentially killing the kidnapper if necessary.
@ZeussLightningBolt Honestly I would just listen to what they say hoping they trust me a bit after and I have a chance to escape XD If you fight all the time they would always have someone to watch you. You can't do anything then.
Yeah why not I'm worth fuckall plus I'd have someone to talk with I once was a social butterfly but now I'm a social pepper contaminated & seen as unclean lol
They are the boss with the gun. The best bet at that point is hopefully make enough noise that someone notices and wait for an opportunity to present itself to escape. Now if there are other people around I may try to make a break for it and find cover really quick because they may not be willing to shoot you with a bunch of witnesses.

Sorry, stupid question. Trained in Martial Arts, and weapon-disarming! I would take it away, subdue, and call the police and press charges. No loss of life, no torture. . .
If he is that close, he could be at a disadvantage. There is a way to rush him and disarm him. It’s a move that needs practice. It also involves a move that could shatter his elbow joint by leverage. Use of a karambit can disembowl him.
@zoeadams3 I feel no need to do damage, or harm, but simply resolve the confrontation, in a way that nobody is harmed. I respect Aikido, a martial art, about balance and using force, to maintain balance. I wish there was a Dojo near me, or some Master, that could teach this.
Worst case scenario they rape and kill you or there might always be a chance the worst thing they do to you is put you in a car boot bound and gagged lol
Hypothetically if a prick somehow got the drop on me without being noticed where he could hold a gun at my face. I'd 'pretend' to be compliant for a moment, then make their day suck.
It’s easy to think about this situation as it’s not happening. But if and I mean IF *knock on wood* I would be too shocked and stunned as my body would be frozen and my mind would be blank and not process as to what is happening.
They wouldn't take me alive. Kidnappers are fucked up. Best case scenario, they cut your ear off and send it through the post. Worst case scenario, you end up part of a human caterpillar.
Go with them to figure a way out later, because being shot has 5% chance or survival rate while going with them will elevate my survival rate to 50% and more...
