We are on break but we still talk to one another as a couple, with a slight twist?

Has this happened to anyone else?.. My and my boyfriend have been going through rough times and we decided to take a break for a bit just to get our heads on straight and actually see what we are dealing with. We talk to each other as much as we did when we were together. But he won't talk to me on the phone. I don't know why, BUT_ when we text, he says lol and texts "haha" as if everything is okay. And then when I ask to call him, he denies me and says "uh idk..." and then he says "yeah, sorry" like is everything okay or not, you get me?... Advice on anything about this topic: being on a break. Thanks..

If your question is why he's not talking to you on the phone read the following response:

He may have set up some walls that he's sticking to in terms of what is or what isn't allowed during break just so that he's not tempted to feel anything too emotionally inspiring. Just in case he misses you too much and can't think about the situation clearly. His objective is to Think about you.. not miss you. Therefor talking on the phone may be one of the things he really enjoys about your 'actual relationship'.

If you both like each other enough to be able to put up with each others flaw, insecurities, and just plain old disagreements... then you can decide to be together. It's really not too complicated. It's just the emotions that you need to control. So when you've decided how you actually FEEL about this relationship and how much of it you think is salvageable, then get together and share, piece by piece, both of your thoughts and emotions on the matter.

Overall, it seems to me like you two have a very tight grasp on the friendship aspect of the relationship and that's not something either of you felt like giving up during your break which generally means that you both have a good chance of being able to continue with the relationship. That's just my opinion.. but I don't know a whole lot about your situation or why you went on break in the first place. So. I hope I helped :)

I think that you both should get together and deiced what is right for the both of you. I have gone through the same thing you are. I think its important for both of you to know were to other stands, and even more important that he knows how you feel. If you both are on a different page then maybe its time to move on. Or you guys need to take a real brake, tell him that you don't think you shouldn't talk for about a week and then meet up and discuss how you feel.
