The house is in Flint, Michigan but the condo is in Singapore or something
I don't recommend real estate as some form of asset preservation. You can buy up consolidated home debt from regions effected by natural disaster but I wouldn't say "this plot of qtr acre land" is worth diddly shit unless you want to hold and improve it for 50 years. Like I would need to put in approx. 1/4 of the value of my old folk's place in order to get true value on that asset, which would maybe double my current position. Does that sound like a get rich quick scheme? Real estate is what the rich tell the poor but then they'll open up Western Expansion and give it to some new irish cunts that stick a flag in the dirt. The first real estate was Igg killing Ook and saying "this shit here, mine"
I own a house because that is my preference. For a period of 3 years I did survey work. Though I never had the opportunity to survey a condo, my crew leader yold me the way to measure a condo is from interior wall to interior wall. Because when a person owns a condo, they own space & not actually the wall that contain that space. So "No Thank You" to a condo.
I used to want a condo more, but I live in an dormetory and know trouble of getting along with everyone in the building.
I can't imagine myself anymore living the condo life.
I enjoy a home with a large lot & yard.

I "own" a house. Two actually. When it comes to real estate in the United States, you never really "own" it. The government allows you to hold possession as long as you pay property taxes and fees and follow their regulations. If you don't they take it from you. Since they control it, they actually own it. You are just a renter.
House 1000%. I hated living in apartments, and condos are basically the same. You can hear everything. Screaming babies/kids/adults, loud music, fire alarms, no garage to keep car safe, etc. Plus, privacy is important.
Neither because you're tied down to a piece of property can NEVER move to a different state when you want. Responsible when appliances break or when a roof or ceiling need repairs. Then there's the property tax, sewer tax, and the 15-30 year mortgage. Not worth any of that hassle
I prefer to not own at all. Unless I pay my hut in cash.
To enslave myself to a bank makes as much sense to me as obeying the official speed limit on a straight and empty road.
It's about my individual 'Freedom'.
Or having "urban planners" play god and decide what you will see every day outside. This whole damn country feels like one big factory.
Agreed. Unfortunately, we only have the moon... or Mars as 'realistic' alternative options 😒
A house for sure. I like not having an HOA board hovering over me telling me what I can and can’t do on my property.
Condo if single or planning on being. Or if the wife would rather want. If not single I’d like a bigger house with plenty of space to entertain and stuff like that. And maybe a pool and dogs.
House. I don't want a board telling me what I can or can't hang in my window, that I can't have a hot tub or otherwise controlling what I can and can't do with the property I own.
I own both, main home is 4 bed, 4 1/2 bath, condo is a 2nd home at the beach, 2 bed 2 bath. I love both but love the space of my main home more.
I own a home with a bit of land. Nearest neighbor I do not see. I could never live in a condo stacked one upon the other and close enough to hear your neighbor's shit splash their bowl. Screw that.
And I do, I want my piece of nature especially during summers.
A
I already own a condo. it a two bedroom two bath. I live alone. so it is enough space for me.
I'd rather live in bungalow in the tropics surrounded by exotic cuties who cater to my every whim.
AND make the best sandwiches on Earth.
A house for sure, I own a dog and I wouldn't want to stick him in a condo.
A condo is a 'apartment' you BUY. A house is a house. And ne'er the twain shall meet. ;)
A house. House, so I don't have to pay condo fees on top of a mortgage
I need my own space. Room for a recording studio and a nice sized kitchen to cook. So a house would be much needed and preferred.
House. With the caveat that I also have enough money for a garderner/lawn care service
Condo before a family, and a house when everything is stable in my life
I’ve owned both.
I hate owning a house. I look forward to getting rid of it when kids are older.
Appreciation, rent, only have the goverment to tell me what to do with the property they so generously permit me to possess.
