You're friend is full of shit. Vikings are Nordic, originating in Scandinavia/ Netherlands, and the term typically has a connotation of those who are active in pillaging via amphibious assault, employing the military tactics, etc. of those of the region. The only instance of a Viking being a Turk would be when the descendants of Viking warriors, after conversion to Christianity, invaded the Byzantine Empire (which lays in the area Turkey currently controls), an Orthodox Christian empire which was invaded during the crusades, and settled there.
Generally, NO, the Vikings are as much Turkish as Indians are Spartans.

Vikings came from Scandinavia. Norway, Sweden and Denmark. No Vikings came from Turkey, or anywhere near there. Some Vikings did go into the Mediterranean sea, and others came down the Volga or Don Rivers, etc. So they likely were in Turkey at times, but the Vikings never were Turks.

The Turkish Nation has one of the oldest cultures and civilizations in world history. Turks have existed in almost every period of known history. It is not easy to determine the starting point and place of thousands of years of Turkish history. The Anav culture, which was discovered by archaeological excavations and anthropological researches, dates back to 4000 BC and is the oldest culture of Central Asia, is likely to be related to Proto-Turks. If this possibility is true, a very old history of 6000 years is the subject.
Yeah nah, Vikings did come to Turkey and were even hired by the Roman emperor as personal guards and technically they maybe had a few children with Turks but Turks in general is not in any way connected to Vikings.
No and your friend is a moron. Probably one of those Turk vermin trying to pretend that Turks have ever been anything except vermin, thieves, liars, swindlers, and backstabbers.
No they weren't. And the Egyptians weren't black, and the Persians weren't white.
Every ultranationalist/racialist/tribalist movement has their pseudohistoric bullshit myth. It's pathetic.Your friend probably watched too much of Vikings and a wanna be of Scandinavian people. There isn't even any single connection between both Vikings and Turks.
Eh, no? Vikings were of the Old Norse ethnicity, namely ancient Scandinavians of Sweden, Denmark and Norway, also to some extent Finland, and of course Iceland.
Could have common ancestors.
Not really, no.
No we're not
