Are you ending the year with the same dreams that you had on January 1? Have you realized any of your dreams? Have they changed?

When I was younger, my dreams and goals changed fairly often. Occasionally, I would accomplish one of those goals or dreams but, more often, my goals and dreams would change as I gained more experience with life. Eventually, they became relatively stable and I have essentially the same dreams today that I had ten years ago. Through that process, I have not lost my idealism, though it is now slightly tempered by the experiences I have had.

Have your dreams changed this year? Is that because you realized some of them or have you changed the direction in which your life is headed?

I accomplish lots of small ones in my work including a relatively large one this year, although I've lost some of the "meta" ones with stability. Sometimes I question if I like this stability. It's like there is too much structure to it all, and I'm addicted to chaos.

Did you ever have this dream of wanting to be like a soldier with simple mission briefings every day? I sometimes have that. I don't know what it means. Maybe I want some struggle... like a real struggle. Not struggle like I need to come up with a new data structure for some system struggle. Real struggle.

But the other side of me says it's dumb to throw my life into chaos like that. But I'm not comfortable being too comfortable if that makes any sense. It's like when life starts resembling a paradise I need a little bit of hell to make sense of it. Otherwise, I'm going to take it for granted.

Yet I've accomplished all my major goals in life. I got the career I wanted, the marriage, the house... what am I supposed to do now? I didn't find a pot of gold necessarily. I found love and comfort... but no more struggle. So I'm searching for a new struggle.

I keep realizing new dreams but maybe they're too small. I haven't figured out how to make an epic one... something that will gamble it all. Except I don't want to gamble it all now. I'm very happy with what I have. So I'm confused. :-D

It's like I lived my life as a the highest-rolling gambler... I gamble at all. I live on the edge. Except for this year, I was confronted with something that made me realize that I might not actually want to gamble it all. I have things I don't actually want to lose. So I'm trying to make sense of it. I'm kind of at that stage in life if that's a stage in life some people have in common.

We are in constant change, even when it comes to our dreams. Even if they are the same, something evolved during the year.
Most of the times you don't even know you had different dreams until you face them. Yes, I think one them came true for me ~ I met wonderful people, I made unforgettable friends and my faith in humanity started to restore itself.

My dreams didn't change. I just don't know what they are going to be next.

Last year I’m not sure what I wanted on January 1st

this year my goal is to improve my appearance

find a romantic partner

and show my connections I care and they are beautiful

I also want to increase my income or at least sustain current levels

and I want to improve physical fitness

My dreams have changed quite a bit and I've learned quite a bit about myself this year. I have realized a few to an extent (as in made progress with them), but am still working on them. I've got some new ones this year.

I don’t have dreams anymore. I live in reality now. My old dreams have passed away, however, I am more mature and I usually accomplish my goals no problem.

My lifetime goal is the same as its been: to be able to say I'm truly happy and content in life. Not there yet, but have made some progress to get there this year, hope it continues next year too
