The seven days are named for sidereal bodies and/or pagan gods. Sunday is the sun. Monday is the moon. Tuesday is the god of war—either Mars, Tiw, or Tyr. They were all gods of war and different etymologies list each of them as the origin of the name. Wednesday is Odin. Thursday is Thor. Friday is Freya/Frigga—though the dictionary also references Venus. All three of these were goddesses of love/marriage. Saturday is Saturn. (In Spanish, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday are Martes, Jueves, Viernes. The names of the Roman deities are more visible in Spanish than English.
If I added a day, it would be between Thursday and Friday. I would call it Mercday.

Knowing that the days of the week are named after planets and our sun
Monday = Moon
Tuesday = Mars
Wednesday = Mercury
Thursday = Jupiter
Friday = Venus
Saturday = Saturn
Sunday = Sun
The big planet of our solar system that is missing is
Neptune and it would have to go just after Saturn (Saturday). Therefore the new 8th day, aptly name Nepday would need to be in between Saturn and the Sun, thus between Saturday and Sunday.
Big advantage: It makes your week-end 33% longer :-)
convalesce I would just name it that and it would go before Sunday. It wouldn't be for an extra day for the weekend but so we can recover before Sunday (where most people clean or having Sunday dinner etc. and bc on the calanders the week starts on Sunday (Sun., Mon., Tues., Wed., Thurs., Fri., Sat. and it repeats) it would be that one actual rest day between the end and start of the week for the sake of recovery

Loki's day (sticking with the Aesir theme) would be between Saturday and Sunday, to expand the weekend.
