I wrote down a quote from Marcus Aurelius yesterday.

Other than what I write on gag, it was a quote about architecture.

If you mean on this site it was probably some sort of social commentary or reflection on people - if you mean on my cell phone it would probably be a record or to do list - if you mean on my notebook - it was my reflection of the symbolism of salt and light in the bible.

It's incredibly boring. But a sample if I type it:

Our software never had a very robust or efficient implementation for dealing with polygons that have one or more holes in them. So I was working on a much more efficient and robust algorithm.

Actually the old version was about as inefficient as you could possibly get. It would actually first tesselate the entire polygon into triangles, then merge triangle pairs one-by-one to determine contours. It'd also fail in certain cases.

In my case even with my limited mental capacity, things get boring quickly. They lose their novelty quickly: there's a pattern to everything, things become highly predictable, etc. That tends to happen to all with age, I suspect, but I think it happens at an accelerated pace with higher learning capacity. Things get old really fast except for the few things that seem so unusual and novel. I can only see that trend being exaggerated further if I had the NZT pill. it's actually something that I couldn't quite understand from the film is how he didn't get insanely bored with everything as he starts to develop god-like capabilities of being able to predict everything and see every possible angle and outcome to any situation. A life that is absent much in the way of surprises and struggles starts to become very dull as I see it.

Well, lemme try this example. Say we have two people and a video game. One naturally excels so much that he can beat the game with no struggle. He can anticipate every single enemy pattern, has an innate understanding of how the game mechanics work on par with those who developed it. He has no challenge whatsoever. Then say a second one finds the game reasonably difficult, struggles a bit but not so much that he can't progress with determination and effort, gets surprised by the game frequently, etc. Who has more fun and who gets quickly bored with the game?
