+1 yI don't really think much about it, but it's much preferable over someone who really overdoes it and feels the need to throw in a swear word (usually the F bomb) around every other word.
14 Reply- +1 y
Me neither. I think some people are still in the immature stage of thinking it looks "cool" or "edgy". I mean, I will swear sometimes, too, but 75% of my dialogue isn't swearing, lol.

Yes, and it ends up just making them look really insecure and I think annoys most people.

+1 yShrug, they just don't cure which is fine. Maybe they weren't around people who did it, maybe they are trying to stop from doing, maybe they have a beliefs that says to refrain from it (God actually doesn't want us to curse anyway). Truth be told, there's really no need for any of us to curse but we still do it cause people and society have normalized, it's kinda like a monkey see/do thing with everything on earth.. Yes, there just words but there are other ways to express yourself than just cussing. And yes I've done it, can't say that I haven't done it cause everyone's done it.

+1 yThat's a good thing. I rarely swear (but use dark humor/memes/cartoon instead). People who have the habit of expressing curses feel uncomfortable around me. They don't use it with me, but when they turn to other freinds, they do. Maybe we are not that close. Well, my close friends don't swear, and I love that. It depends.
16 Reply- +1 y
They would leave me alone in the end. Most of them have different lifestyles and values from me. It doesn't bother me that much. I prefer people who have manners and self-control.
- +1 y
Yes. That's true. When I was young, I thought people with a loud mouth are more sincere. I was right, they are. Plus, how they speak and act says a lot about their thoughts and personalities. Because if those negative words are not on their mind, they wouldn't say any. That's why we should be aware of how we talk and witty when something irritates us.
In a book "Dangerous Instincts", the author Ph. D. Mary Ellen O'Toole mentioned cases of people who constantly gave signals before they committed suicide, and how a careless lie of a bomb at airport is very serious. Police would think the person who says that actually a criminal. - +1 y
It's power of choosing how to respond. 💪👍💕
2.2K opinions shared on Other topic. I would find them weird for not wanting to use words. I wouldn't really care they don't swear. But it's just kinda like eh why not? what if someone just said hell is a swear you just not gonna say it no more? Just brings up a lot of questions. or if someone say's idiot is a swear you just not gonna say it no more? What makes it swear why don't you just say words? Because that's all they are. And just more and more questions go down a rabbit hole to stuff they won't be able to answer. Other than saying i don't like to use them.
But there is no logic there so kinda perplexes me.02 Reply- +1 y
Pretty sure everyone hears swears as they grow up or did they go to catholic school? But even there other kids swear behind the teachers backs so unless if they been locked in basement that don't really make sense and kids love to learn new words due to there own curiosity. And all words in own language kinda become habit to us that's how we learn languages. And even if people don't swear often they will unless if there activity trying not to. But then that's what perplexes me it makes 0 sense to actively not use words.
+1 yThat person who never curses could be a person trying to live for God, as a Matter of fact, I don't try to swear cause I try my best to live for God but I am a backslider and I don't hide a fact that I am far from being a Saint but I do my darnest to live the life he wants me to
12 Reply- +1 y
Trying is sometimes the best thing you can do!

@Flower7 Yes so true Flower
+1 ySmart. When we're in arguments, people who swear show less knowledge (to me) because they just want to add words and make other people feel like crap. I mean you can be super smart and swear but I just get that pure, smart vibe. The smartest people at my school never swear that I know of.
10 Reply5.1K opinions shared on Other topic. While it's unusual. I mean to avoid such words when angry where you're venting shows an unusually high level of control, it also shows strength of character.
My brother in law is this way. He was raised in a strict Christian household. But if you got to know him he's hilarious.20 Reply

+1 yAlmost ideal. I hope they still use substitute words though because i find that adorably funny.
41 Reply Good, I mean if they actively avoid cuss words and say things like “diddly darn” I’ll probably have a little chuckle to myself, but I prefer when people don’t swear all the time. I mostly don’t swear at all myself, just don’t like that to be my default, so it would be refreshing.
02 ReplyA very decent well mannered person

+1 yNothing.
I'm more likely to think something if someone cusses all the time rather than not at all.11 Reply- +1 y
I agree, cursing too much gives off a much worse impression than not cursing enough.
I would be under the impression that they have faced harsh consequences foe swearing too much in the past and made an effort to eradicate it from their vocabulary.
15 ReplyIndicator of a bit more healthy and less loose lifestyle than by the rest I guess.
23 Reply- +1 y
No, it wouldn't, prob if something then on the contrary. Almost all people from my social circle do not curse or at least not around me. But I think the most do not generally. Well, about latter I don't know. I curse very rarely and it's level of damn and dammit or milder. Hence I probably wouldn't feel special need to withhold it just because they don't say that - could be that I wouldn't do it around them just naturally as well. Too hypothetical kinda.

+1 yGood for them. It doesn’t bother me. As long as they don’t care that I swear

You never have? Never ever? You drop a bowling ball on your toe, what do you say? "Oh my that hurt"?

As a Christian I make sure to remove profanity from my vocabulary, and I really appreciate meeting similar people.
50 ReplyMy mom always told me that profanity is a sign of a weak vocabulary. If you need to curse it's because you don't know the correct word to use to convey your message. I think she was correct.
32 ReplyVery respectable. It might make me not curse around them even though I curse a LOT.
Seriously if I had a swear jar for every curse I said, I'd be fucking poor- Oh shit- 🤦♂️ oh fuck- 😣 goddamnit! 😫11 Reply
+1 yI think that person is a saint or maybe he is a monk. I mean, sometimes when I get frustated, angry or irritated in life, I curse a lot which really helps.. I shout and come in an empty room and curse so loudly! It makes me light
10 Reply6.3K opinions shared on Other topic. I'd call them a smart and patient person. To never curse means you need other ways to let off steam and you have self control
40 ReplyAs being someone who doesn't curse, I have caught myself sometimes when i get upset that i am very close to cursing. But like its like a game or a challenge for me not to curse because I've grown up not cursing so i don't wanna break my streak 😂

+1 yI do my best to not curse, its slips out from time to time because i actually think the words.
Over the past year i have been using them in text more, but not all the time, i use them appropriately and not excessively.

I went through that phase at one point in My life and it was pretty interesting to watch a person whom doesn't curse stub their toe on something because their face would turn red and You knew they wanted to curse but they held it in.
10 Reply2.8K opinions shared on Other topic. I think people who never curse are generally pretty boring. They're either up tight, inhibited, or too virtuous for my taste. They lack passion and humor.
And a person who never uses curse words or slang terms during sex would be terrible in bed.00 Reply1. Really good self control. I have a friend like that, and if he has to vent, he goes off in Yiddish. And he’s not Jewish.
2. Someone who is extremely religious. As in a fundie.01 ReplyThat’s a tough one. I can admire someone for having a sophisticated way of speaking, but I lose respect for those who are sensitive enough to confess they don’t swear because they’re offended by profanity 🤔

+1 ySuch a person has my respect. I also never use profanity (and in fact cursing would be a deal-breaker for me in dating or a relationship), so such an individual would be a kindred spirit of mine.
10 Reply I try not too swear because I like being a lady but if I am next to a person who swears they start getting in my head lol

20 Reply813 opinions shared on Other topic. depends on what you call a curse. for me if someone casually says n** for example it's not a curse to me. cursing is when it comes with a taste of hatred/anger
04 Reply1K opinions shared on Other topic. That's fine as long as she/he doesn't tell me not to do so
10 ReplyI understand the feeling in regards to maybe wanting to enrich your vocabulary, but if it's just because they're too "pure", I see it as kind of ridiculous.

It s really funny. When I want even to write something like Bullshit, I don't just do it, because I kinda feels like it doesn't fit who I am to do it. I can do it, but I have this feeling. O_O Though I don't know if it is cursing, but by curse words it's definitely this. I can't imagine me saying "motherfucker" - lol:)

Yes I understand and of course there is no logic and rationale behind using vulgar language. People believe that using such words helps them in expressing their anger and frustration in some way but that is just a stupid thinking on their part.
I never use them irrespective of the situation.

13 Reply- +1 y
Obviously you avoid it as the situation requires like all civilized people but on occasion you let it out its scientifically proven that swearing can help you tolerate pain/ reduce stress and was extremely useful to are forefathers as a way of instantly getting the attention of a group to warn them of an attack. Therefore some who never swear is denying themselves something helpful because of a fear and that has is the same logic that leads to horrible consequences
