Does time fly faster as you're older? Do things get... monotonous?

Yes time flies faster each passing year. The phenomenon is related to our metabolism. The higher our metabolism the slower time seems to pass. The lower our metabolism is the faster times seems to pass.

The brain slows down which makes time appear to speed up. Monotony is a result of things being predictable, which does slow the brain down.

it does speed up yes... i was told this many years ago by an 80 year old and now im 53 i can appreciate what he meant... as for it becoming monotonous that only happens if you let it... another thing i learned along the way was that everyday is still a schoolday

It seems to go faster... especially since I had a child. My daughter is 9.5 and that flew by so quickly. I read somewhere that you only have 936 Saturdays with your kid before they're off for college. I want to enjoy every moment that I can.

Certain things feel monotonous but we are always on the go and I rarely feel bored. I like routine and the day-in day-out schedules that I have as an adult. Weekends are open for whatever.

Yes, times flying fast with age, hell just 6 months ago I turned age 52, Now I turn age 53 coming Feb 9, 2021.

Time seems to fly whenever you don’t want it to, and the more you don’t want it to the faster it goes. “Time flies when you’re having fun.” The opposite appears to be just as true.

I would think it would seem that way. so. Between 9 and 10, that year was 10% of your life. Between 49 and 50 it would be just 2%.

Yes they definitely do does time does go by quick and looking back on it there's a lot of things I wish I would have done differently
