I choose the ocean, mostly because I already love the depths of the ocean and I want to know more. I am very passionate about it. Besides, there really isn't just fish down there. I've seen creatures that are built in an alien way, ex. the deepstaria that really just looks like some sort of giant blanket but it moves and its alive. No eyes, no mouth, no limbs. And besides wouldn't it be better to explore and better understand our own home than to explore space? Space doesn't have much to do with us while its the ocean we have a relationship with, I want to explore it before it is destroyed and more species go extinct by mankind.

For me this depends on if faster that light travel possible and would granted with the secrets of space. Because without some form of FTL any thing that may provide a benefit to humanity would so far out it would be unfeasible to attempt obtain it.

There much of or oceans that are unexplored and many species yet to discover. Even with the species we have discovered that still much to learn and can lead discoveries that help humanity. For example not long ago it was learn the texture of shark skin prevented the growth of bacteria and bandages have been developed withe same texture to reduce infections after surgery.

With space being infinite times larger than our oceans it has infinite times more potential fur useful discoveries but with out means to reach this discoveries they remain for all intensive purposes useless to us.

At first I picked the secrets of the universe, because I would consider that of much greater wonder than the ocean. But now I'm not so sure I would pick the universe strictly for pragmatic reasons.

If one knows the secrets of the ocean, one knows the precise location of a lot of valuable and salvageable stuff. One can make a tidy living off that.

If one knows the secrets of the universe, it might be difficult, if next to impossible to profit off it. Besides, even if one were to know the secrets of the universe, how much could one understand it? Most of us couldn't understand a lot of it, including myself. And it's entirely possible that all the physicists and astronomers in the world put together couldn't fully understand it.

I chose ocean, but I really want both. Honestly, I feel like learning more about one will lead to learning more about the other.

I'd be happy to focus on the ocean for now, though. We have a lot of work still ahead of us on Earth and I think it'd be good to do that first - I have this sinking feeling that if we master space travel before we learn how to keep our first planet healthy and not run it into the ground, we'll just turn into some intergalactic colonial harbingers of death.

Which sounds metal, but it feels too much like becoming Reavers from Firefly or something.

well space is bigger and its fascinating space is the final frontier. space is unless ocean is not. still a hypothesis but they say octopus might come from space it might be a creature from comets or asteroids theory on how our earth got its ocean comets and asteroids. with space you also come across questions of your own space is no longer a hypotheses but more theory and fact there's evidence and religion has no evidence yet we believe. tho i believe in jesus (not really his name) thats a whole different topic i dont consider myserlf christian i do follow his teachings well i try to. l then start to think about evolution and how that makes sense, space is fascinating at the the same time scary the unknown is scary

I think we need to understnd first our own planet so we can be much more prepared for a diferent one.
The ocean is explored only 10%.
Ther had been more investigation on space then in the ocean.
Evrething that we think she under the wather and the planet is basted only on sound, surface reactions, radio signal... etc tehnology that don't alow us to go and SEE whit our own eyes.
The ocean presure is terible, the temperature from central Eart is as well incredible.
We are able to look for other plantes to go near our but we are not able to go on all the place of our own?
I feel like we want to start a new book when we didn't even finish the first one.

There are some crazy looking creatures in the ocean, especially in the really deep parts like the Marianas Trench. They honestly look like they could be from outer space. They've evolved to be able to withstand tremendous amounts of pressure (water pressure from above), an environment with no light and little oxygen, and so many other things. While outer space is interesting too, there are tons of species on this planet that we haven't even discovered or identified yet, so I'm going with ocean.

The secrets of the ocean are the secrets of a body of water on one little planet in this unbelievably vast universe. There is infinitely more knowledge to be gained from unraveling the mysteries of outer space, and it'll be a lot more fun.

An argument to be made is that in the course of learning the secrets of space, I'll learn the secrets of the oceans of other worlds, which I can then use to have a solid idea of the mysteries of this world's oceans.

I am very big on outer space things, if I could have all the knowledge of the outer space world I'd definitely take it over our ocean, at most we have in our oceans are creatures like the lantern fish or angler fish or maybe even a megalodon, but i doubted there is another culture or evolved species that can talk and such, tho the outer space is basically limitless of the possibilities.

Considering we only know about 5% of our oceans, i would like to explore that first. It might give us a lot of answers yet to be answered. We have no idea what can be found. Line how does it feel to live on a planet that we know only a fraction about?

There is so many cool things we can get to know by exploring the oceans. But i have to say that exploring the outer space is very tempting as well. I am a geek when it comes to things like this tbh 😅

Tricky one. There is lots of weird stuff underneath our waters. But stars! Space! Emptiness! Loneliness! Misery! I like this. It is more poetic to me, like someone lost in space and doomed over someone who just went too far underwater.
