Technically, it is true for the following reasons.

1. No one has ever returned from death to tell whether there is an afterlife and therefore, death as something never ending is just a hypothesis and nothing that is scientifically proved.

2. The numbers will eventually end when the earth is consumed by the expanding sun in about 3 billion years from now and that there will be no one left on earth to confirm or disprove it.

3. And eventually, the entire universe will also die and that is the definite out for mankind and everything they ever invented.

to start off, myths are typically rooted in some sort of truth. off that, there are too mamy myths about coming back from the dead in some way.

numbers sort of end due to there only being 10 but they get repeated in different combinations over and over ( 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0).

Technically human brain can't imagine the meaning of "forever", Immortality is something which isn't existed in our universe, even black holes will die after a too much of time, the universe has an end but no one know how it will happen or when, if something has a start it will have an end.

Technically speaking, you can't say for sure death lasts forever.
Secondly, in relationships, when people say forever, it typically lasts 3-5 years.
That said, you could argue this either way

You're not entirely wrong. The idea of "nothing lasts forever" is based on the fact that we don't live forever so its based on whatever we get in life won't last forever.
