Just a little question for you at that part, now to answering your question.

I would say... the difference between a serial killer and a Hunter is that you can be described as a Hunter even if you haven't killed something because you are in search for something, doesn't even have to be to kill, such as Bug hunting, it is the action of going in search of something specific, though the word is more linked with killing animals, I would say that another difference is that a Hunter also could kill one thing while hunting and be a hunter, a serial killer has to kill multiple people to be a serial killer.

Hunting is for food. It's a defining characteristic that distinguished humans from their predecessors. It's how humans have survived for millennia. Many still survive or partially survive that way.

Serial killing is just killing. Although some hunting is just killing, that's not usually the case.

Some do, but mostly it supplements store bought food. I know a guy who is big into hunting and also has a decent size vegetable garden. Between the two it's pretty substantial and lowers his grocery bill by quite a bit. He spends about a third or less of what most people would spend.

For example, one deer can provide meat for a year. If you get 50--70 pounds of meat from a deer, that's more than a pound per week for a year. The meat can either be frozen, or made into jerky to preserve it.

Where I live there is a 2 deer limit per season; one with rifle, and one with bow. If someone gets lucky and gets two, that's a heck of a lot of meat. They can also hunt small game which doesn't have nearly as much meat, but it adds up since there may be a high limit (or no limit at all).

as long as you hunt specified species of animals you are a hunter. if you do so out of season you are a poacher. if you hunt a human you are a killer. if you kill around 6 humans you become a serial killer

well there's nothing wrong with enjoying the thrill of the hunt, as long as you are aware that you just ended a life and you treat that situation with the due respect. i think that's in a sense more respectable than getting your beef from the freezer, where you've been completely disconnected from the situation of "having murdered something".

yeah of course. but at least those people understand and maybe have more respect for the life, going more easy on the meat section in general. but maybe i'm wrong. that's just what i think. like if you're completely unaware of how that meat got in the freezer, you probably don't give much of a shit.

where i live, there's actually a "quality of life" standard for the animal that is strictly controlled. it goes from 1 being basically quite inhumane closed stable meat to 4 being natural free range meat. i try to go for a 3 at least. hunting is however not an option where i live at all because of the population density and scarce wildlife. fishing maybe. but that's not the same and also doesn't feel natural, cause of the bureaucracy behind it.
