Is it safe to put contact paper on stove top?

So I have started redecorating my kitchen. I grew up watching HGTV so I have wanted a beautiful kitchen all my life. But I can’t afford it. So I came up with the idea to use contact paper which is kind of like wallpaper except you can use it countertops as well. It looks like I have granite countertops for 10 bucks. So I decided to order a shimmery silver contact paper to do my fridge and dishwasher (since I don’t use my dishwasher anyway I figure it wouldn’t hurt) but then my stove would stand out bc my stove is white. Is it safe to use it on stove top?

I strongly urge you not to do this.

Stovetops can get as hot as 200o from the oven and combined with the heating elements (for an electric stove). Typically, they're much less (around 130o) when the stove/oven is in use. To me, all you're doing is risking a fire at some point. On top of that, you're adding a glue from the contact paper to the stove top that may never come off.

The constant heating and cooling of that surface will release the glue's ability to hold the contact paper down. Initially, it will curl at the edges and around the heating elements. When the paper lifts, you have a high potential for the paper contacting a heating element causing a fire. Even if you get the fire out, the element may have to be replaced (smells everytime it's used) and the enamel paint on the stove top may be completely ruined too.

Strong recommendation: don't use contact paper the stove top - ever.

No, you cannot use contact paper on a stove top because it has a thermal rating of 175 degrees. It would become a mess, plus it could stick to you expensive cookware.
