What do you think about taxidermy?

Depends upon the intent of the Client.
A sort of Native American perspective COULD be to honor the animal's majesty and sacrifice.
Each Thanksgiving when asked to say 'Grace', I remind all attending that every THING on the menu gave up it existence that WE attending might continue our's. They had little or NO choice in their sacrifice, just as "WE" were not polled for our input as to what is required for OUR continuance. And 'yes' its been scientifically PROVEN by UC Berkley's experiments that plants possess rudimentary sentience and feel pain. Just because you can't HEAR them scream DOESN'T mean that they don't.
The BEST we can do is to be compassionate Predators, and to do as needs be done the most expeditious and least painful as possible for our 'Prey' culling NO more than necessary.
For indeed that IS what we and they are.

It seems a bit weird I guess. Not really creepy. I like Bones and skulls though. So maybe the way some people like taxidermy is similar to that?
It's how I will preserve my momma 😌
Not my cup of tea, but to each their own

I've never hunted though I always wanted to. I probably never will. Trophy hunting... that really aggravates me. No anything/anyone should lose their life just because.
If the meat is harvested and put to good use, fine. If taxidermy is to preserve the memory of a majestic animal to honor it, fine. I can and do support this.
If it's a "look at me" thing... just disgusting.
Same action with different motives, it can be honorable and right to me on one hand and selfish and disgusting on the other.
Long way to say "it depends".
It can be seen as a way to preserve an animal after passing but to kill them prematurely for the purpose of taxidermy well let's just say that tales from the crypt had a commentary on this idea and as far as I'm concerned this is how I feel people should look like that taxidermy for sport

I think it's a little weird, but I'm not against it. I've known a lot of hunters. Some have done taxidermy, but most have not.
I have a neighbor with two deer heads over his fireplace. If you ask about them, he'll tell you all about them. He has a story for each of them. It's obviously a matter of pride for something he's really into.
Taxidermy to me isn't cool. Because things are supposed to rot in the ground. I need to see my maggots devouring the dead fle... Just kidding!
In all seriousness, I don't like taxidermy. Because it's an extreme. Like the pet died, you don't need to preserve it's body. You gotta let it go. Nobody does it to a human so why an animal? If you're a scientist that's different but is you're a regular person then let it go.
Used to be a thing pre-millenial with foxes. It's sad actually because when you look into their eyes you see that they are dead. Gave the fox away to a school
It's cool and creepy.
I get it if the animal is already dead, but just killing one for the sake of it, would be stupid.
I dabbled in it a little, my friends dad did it and I helpped a few times to see whats it like.
A lot of hard work and takes a long time to make.
A morbid methodology that allows people to keep things they've killed stashed on a mantle or wall so they can relive a life they ended.
Dont have one but i believe like all things, they have a spirit and i should respect that instead of keeping it dead yet alive
I think it's creepy and cruel to the animals. They can't even rest in peace.
It's sad to think they kill: Tigers, Leopards, Bears, Deer just to get their fur
yes so sad for sure
I find it very creepy. I saw one in my aunt house and I felt disgusted. I can't even be there with that thing
Its horrible. I dont like anything that hurts animals. If the animal died naturally then ok. But not killed
I have nothing against it unless its an endangered species. I've heard some people get their pets taxidermy, and I find that weird.
Just at least make sure the animal died to feed somebody and not just end up as some trophy with no other use.
I think it would be great to be taxidermied I wanna be made into a coat rack.
According to many movies I watched, taxidermy plus classical music equals serial killer. Why's that?
I don't have any in my house. I'm not against if someone else has mounts in their house though.
It’s really alarming how would you like to have that done to you
Disgusting practise. People who think it's okay to do this should seek professional help immediately.
It's fine if it is done properly. Great for museums and research facilities that study anthropology
Stuffed animals are the best! You don't have to feed or walk them.
Well I wouldn't like to stay like that forever it be tasking people are mean
They still alive though right
It can be creepy, but honestly my grandmother doesn't look any worse for wear.
