I've yet to find a single movie from Eli Roth that I like very much, although that one was so-so to me and I think in large part because Keanu did a really good job with that role.
Well, poor guy! I mean he cheated on his wife so that's a clear no-no. Still, the girls practically double-teamed and jumped on him naked while he's trying to say no repeatedly. It's actually blurring into the rape category as I see it so I still think the girls did a whole lot more wrongdoing than the guy.
I think my thoughts would be the same if the sexes were reversed, like two young and handsome men taking advantage of a married woman's hospitality in her home and then undoing her clothes while she repeatedly says "no", only for her to give in. Maybe there's small wrongdoing on the part of the wife for not trying to fight them off, but I think the men in this scenario would be the bad guys.
I wonder if anyone saw this differently like Keanu is the bad guy for cheating on his wife. But I just rewatched the shower scene and these are his words: -- "What the fuck are you doing?" -- "The car is outside." -- "I'm going to tell the driver that you're coming out. Get dressed. Now. Please. Here's your clothes." -- "Woah woah-woah woah! Stop. Stop stop stop. I can't do this. I'm married -- happily. Okay?" -- "Woah, stop. Stop." -- "I'm flattered. But really, I can't. Please. Get dressed."
So the man is clearly no saint but I think this makes it morally ambiguous because any decent human being would have stopped here and he said to stop firmly many times and even pleaded with them to stop before he finally caved in.
I think the guy should have never gotten in the shower even with his eyes covered! :-D He should have been like, "Hey, you two need to get out now! The driver is here."
Tough one for me since I usually want to help such people out if I can. My thing as a married guy is to try to keep a distance (both emotional and physical) if girls are getting too flirty which happens every now and then, not because I'm some ladykiller but I hang out in drinking environments where that can occasionally happen to anyone. I seat myself further away, talk about how much I adore my wife, introduce them to my single guy friends -- anything to put a physical and emotional distance so that I don't have to find myself in that sort of situation that Keanu's character found himself in.
Still tricky though with the way it happened to him. He even did some of those things. I was skimming through the early parts of the movie and when the girls started touching him and getting close in his chair, he changed seats. He did lots of things right that a married man should do.
Oh well, those bitches are terrible! :-D I think you called the moral of the story right -- I just want to disagree with it since I don't want to live in a world where I have to decline people in need of help just because of the remote possibility that such a thing might happen.
Yup , I was more interested in what happens next how he would overcome that situation and the movie also tells dong help out of your way it could lead you in trouble , also always kistdn to your wife wrt to other girls
I found it extremely boring and the ending was just ugh. I saw it a year or so ago. And only one of the women was attractive. The other looks nice outside of this movie but in this movie she looked manly. Keanu really lowered his standards making this movie
