+1 yI would not want to know the future; that would make life most boring. Knowing what will happen, and when it will happen before it happens would make you living your life uneventful. There would be no surprise, or joy, when you have success in your life.

you would never be able to or allowed to see your whole future cuase then you coul try and prevent stuff and then something worse would happen

Any dangers or threats ahead so I could prepare.
Health of my family.
Investments.
Foolish decisions of my kids I might prevent.
Political shifts...
Job opportunities.
I'd love to.
And of course my own death so I could prepare my family.00 Reply
+1 yYes, I'd rather know the truth, even if it's uncomfortable. I don't want to live under any delusions. I try not to. I do an examination of conscience, every once and awhile, but I tend to be harder on myself than others would be. And heck, maybe an objective fact based analysis of me would lighten my burden, rather than increase it.
I am trying to live a simple a life as possible. Unfortunately, we live in a complex world with all kinds of nuance.00 Reply787 opinions shared on Other topic. The future is an ever-changing goal, just out of reach. One thing we all know, we will all fall in love at some point in our lives, we might have children, we will surely die. What you do with that information is entirely up to you to embrace it or fuck it up.

+1 yI always get dizzy when I look into my crystal ball. I'm not speaking metaphorically. I actually have a real crystal ball, it's made of quartz.

Exactly. Knowing for certain one way or the other would absolutely change the way I approach everything in life.

It's a proposition that Blaise Pascal put forward last century. He said that if God does not exist, then believing in him gains you a good life. If he does exist, then believing in him gains you heaven. But if he does not exist and you don't believe in him you are at neutral, whereas if he does exist and you don't believe in him then you go to hell

@Grond21 yes that is exactly what I was saying here. There is no harm in believing in God if the outcomes will be the same. a lot of people make it seem like the ticket to heaven is the reason to believe but most of the benefits of being religious show here on earth so anything after death is just a bonus
