I wish that people would instantly know that I have hyperacusis. And I wish they'd actually believe me & not doubt its severity.
This is what I'd say to those who have annoyed me in the past:
I'm not being overly dramatic when I say that I feel pain from sound. I'm not being overly dramatic when I say that I need to constantly wear hearing protection in certain environments. I'm not being overly dramatic if I say you're voice is causing me discomfort & if I ask if you could talk more softly. I'm not being overly dramatic when I say that I cannot mentally handle broad & fast dynamic spikes in decibels, especially when there's a low noise floor. If you're bothered by who I am, just know that I am infinitely more bothered by my condition than you are. Just know that I am a far bigger inconvenience to myself than I will ever be for you.
No, I cannot go out into the world & function like a normal person as if I don't have hyperacusis. That's not how it works. That's how you make it worse by causing medical setbacks & increasing the severity/sensitivity of the condition. If I avoid possibly loud environments, it's because of the condition, not because I have some innate aversion or laziness towards anyone or anything. If I didn't have this condition, I'd probably be a normal person. You probably wouldn't have anything to complain about with me. Not saying I'd want to conquer the world or anything, but just consider my disadvantages & stop acting like I'm the average person.
Here's an inconvenience my condition brings that you would never have to worry about:
The other day, I was beside a family member in the kitchen. I didn't have my hearing protection & she was opening a bag. It wasn't even one of those insanely loud or disruptive bags, they were the bags you put meat in at the grocery store. But it was still causing me physical discomfort since it was late & my ears perceive treble to be greater at night when I'm at my most tired state. I had to ask if she could turn the fan on that was beside her so that my mind could relax a bit. She did & it helped tremendously. This is not something that a normal person experiences. I am not normal.
My goal in life at this point is to not be in constant pain or experience severe medical setbacks that could make my hyperacusis even worse than it is right now. Because if that were to happen, I'd probably not see life as worth it at all.
That rug really tied the room together!
That I'm the best of all my clones on this world. that's right, i said clones. As I have many clones, man and woman on this world. But out of all of them, i'm quite special if your mind is open as well as your heart.
That me being honest doesn't mean that I don't like you.

I wish WOMEN knew that i am a total ass-man, then an inner-thigh man, and then a lips-man, and that i love the scent of a woman (in most cases, that is)
