Why are people so mean towards ugly people?

Also, why is everyone on this site, so mean in general? I recently posted some of pics on howdoilook asking for advice and feedback on my looks. Most replies I got were very negative.. No one even bothered telling me what makes me unattractive and how to fix that. On the contrary, almost all other girls get tons of replies and everyone is kind to them. You can be honest without being a jerk

After high school, most people are mature enough not to be mean to "ugly people."
It's more about preferential treatment being given to the most attractive. It's a biological instinct to procreate. Fitness, healthy hair, glowing skin, facial symmetry... they are all biological markers of health.

I agree with you about people online being more mean than irl. That's for sure.
Everyone knows the How Do I Look category here, and they use it to stalk, and vent. You should stay away from it.

im not mean but i get what you are saying. now if someone randomly starts n me in a comment all bets are off, i dont tolerate it. people are mean to anyone and everyone these days. the negative trolls love to pick people apart. their severe lack of character shows for anyone who goes outta their way to make fun of or attack anyone based off looks especially a woman. think to yourself do you know how sad that person is in life if making fun of another makes them feel good? how pathetic.

Well people here expect you to ask them 'why and how?' after they give their opinion.
So if one said you're a 7. They expect you to reply, "how can I be a 9?" And they would tell you how from their point of view.
Of course calling you ugly and unattractive is horrible, because no matter what you're beautiful and attractive to many people, so they should just keep their negative opinions to themselves.

Because some folks feel entitled to hold back their kindness when they are online as if there won’t be a repercussion or consequence. Again, they feel entitled.
I’ve been bullied my whole life for no reason and it’s turned me into a very grumpy defensive person. Evidently so.
Never ever look for validation, support, reassurance, help or kindness over the internet. How you justify if you’re important or beautiful is how you treat yourself

@Allen39 We should have a club here for all us bullied people. I was bullied for being fat (at least in high school I was). I am not anymore because I lost a lot of weight but I won't ever forget my tormentors.
