That window is long closed. We lost that opportunity when the first 2-3 mutations became dominant, and more are on the way. The WHO is tracking another half dozen or so variants of interest, after Delta. The more infections=more opportunities to mutate=higher likelihood of increased infectivity, increased lethality, and increased resistance to our vaccines and treatments. Not a good scenario. Instead of being like the 'Spanish Flu' where things subsided after 18-24 months, this is going to be more of a long haul scenario, like the 'Black Death' that lasted from ~1331-1770.
If the flu hasn't after all this time, I'd imagine COVID is here for good.
Was the flu ever eradicated?
Same principle. Its even worse because people are just too impatient and can't wait in their homes, apart from everyone else.
I understand that some of us can't handle being at home but can't they understand that by travelling they are putting everyone else, not themselves, in great danger?
No, it will become endemic and will be another largely seasonal virus like flu. It will no longer dominate life. This could take a number of years though and we'll likely rely on vaccines and booster jabs to control it.

Nope. Not according to all the science experts. It will just be something that dies down and lays dormant until the winter months where it will probably break out again in the same way as flu. But when you look at how many flu kills worldwide every year, and then look at how many Covid kills, it's a frightening thought.
Oh and for those who don't believe in Covid.. Don't bother reading ^^^^ above as this won't apply to you!
eradicated? no, these things never go away completely, and they've been around for about 10,000 years
but as a pandemia, it will end eventually and for sure
of course not. flu type disease evolve quickly. this has always been the case and will always be. and if we don't accept that a few people will die to those diseases every year, we will never be able to live a normal life again.
the strategy should be to keep people healthy with fitness and nutrition. not with questionable drugs thatn "might" do more harm than good.
and also people are still dying to the old variants of corona and influenca despite there being very good vaccines around for those.
I asked my GP and he said he thinks it'll be something will get boosters for for years. To come.
wear your mf mask when your suppose to. Wash your hands. And if you want.. get the vax... If not... St. Peter is waiting
Only till pussies start being unafraid of being vaccinated
Maybe next year when Jurassic World: Dominion is released
no It will always be around in some form.
I think its here for good.
The way the worlds going, nope.
I know it will be eradicated
