Why are so many K-pop fans so Crazy?

AND I MEAN CRAZY, like Don't get me wrong, I love Kpop, I love their Music and the idols that i listen to and Follow but like a normal Sane person like a normal fan…But I’m talking about the fans who are so dramatic about it, almost everyone who follows Kpop is so dramatic with them and like care about every little thing they do.. I’m Like thinking Hey Calm down they’re only Human beings like everyone else not gods.. they can date, they can do whatever they like, they aren’t your objects.. but yet people are like so dramatic and overreacts when a kpop idol or group does this or if a rumor about them gets out into the public like I will never understand why fans or people act like that about them… cuz AGAIN they’re only Human!

Well a lot of kpop idols get plastic surgery and go on fad diets to look the way they do because of their fans - for some reason in Korea they're very superficial about kpop idols behavior and appearance, which is why they have crazy fans who feel that they are entitled to that from them

I believe the only way they can get away with this inhumane treatment if idols it's because they're fair-skinned the Koreans and people are more inclined to believe that they have good intentions meanwhile over here in the west if a music company did that to their singers it would get immediately trashed

Also plastic surgery isn’t exactly a bad thing and Diets aren’t a bad thing either so I mean like Kpop idols are still better than American idols in every way so especially when it comes to music and talent

I disagree - the type of diets that kpop idols go on is not okay.

They will do paper cup diets where they are only allowed to eat on thing out of a paper cup for days or the ice cube diet where they only eat a Ice cube for a month.

If singers here in the us did that they would be immediately called out

But when the faired skinned Koreans and kpop companies force this on their idols, or have them do other extreme stuff like bleach their skin - somehow it's better?

Wth, many singers or dancers, Not all but many in the U. S are usually overweight or really big or something, they should probably go on a diet. I mean imagine you dancing that much and you’re fat or kinda overweight, it’d be hell and exhausting Yk.. also that paper cup diets you mentioned is a bit over exaggerating, like how would you know, you aren’t a Kpop idol

Because the only reason that your justifiying this inhumane treatment towards the idols is because these are standards being espoused by fair skinned koreans and you want to believe that they are doing it with good intentions but they aren't

You completely ignored what I said about idols starving themselves on ice cube diets or how they faint on stage due to mal nutrition - all for what, their fans? That type of behavior is only tolerated and enforce in eastern societies.

You don't even seem to be concerned that these models: bleach their skin, get plastic surgery, and are pushed to the breaking point of killing themselves like Kim Jong Hyun - may he rest in peace.

Unlike you and other kpop fans I don't support this type of behavior which is why I call it what it is - you only condone thia type of treatment because it is being Condoned by fair skin superficial koreans who believe that it is acceptable to treat their fellow koreans like this (they are not doing it with good intentions) it is sending a bad message to the youth of Korea by having idols they have to look up to who don't look like them dued to the fact that they bleach their skin bleaching, starving, and plastic surgery.

The idols in the west may not be as visually appealing as you would like them to be - but they are one thing that kpop models will never be - realistic depiction of what kids can naturally achieve

Why do you people always focus on physical things and not The music, like people never think about the music and how good it is, people always think about the trash diets they do, plastic surgery, and Just spilling hate for like rumors and scandals Kpop idols do.. I’m a normal music fan, I follow them cuz i love their music and Their personality and Videos about them bring me more into it…also the way you’re describing the diets they do is so over dramatic, you’ve seen Kpop idol vids right? In some reality, variety shows or vlogs they eat meat, chicken, and normal food, so instead of assuming the worst since you obviously don’t know anything about it, go watch more Kpop before you assume stuff..

Look you can down play the diets all you want. But just know your supporting these horrible conditions being pushed onto the very idols you claim to love.

And let's be honest - you don't care about the music you care about their looks because if they looked like they normally did without all the unhealthy bleaching, diets and surgey (so a bit darker or a bit bigger, with no plastic surgery nose) then you wouldn't care about their music.

For example let's take jeenie

She was a very sweet girl who was darker and prettier before becoming a kpop model - but she bleached her skin and went on a dangerous diet all at the request of her fans and company.

The same goes for lisa sees a sweet girl who had talent befor she was forced to get surgery and went on a fad diet - the fact that these companies and fans only acknowledged that once she starved her self and got surgery to remove her natural features speaks volumes to the type of society they are pressured to live in.

It's why so many young korean girls are getting plastic surgery as their graduation gifts - because they live in a place that teaches them to be anything but themselves

Ok for one…How the hell do you know all this? I think you’re just assuming everything to worst…and 2.. You’re really over exaggerating the Kpop idol thing just by the worst.. Like if you seen Kpop variety shows and reality shows, it shows them eating normal food like Meat, chicken and Tteokbokki. Etc, so stop exaggerating their diets, also How do you know they bleach their skin, in korea people”s skin are naturally white or yellow as people call it, but it’s natural, nobody in the world bleaches their skin, that just makes you sound racist and hater!

It’s common knowledge that in eastern Asian countries they sell skin whitening creams everywhere it’s not just Korea, it’s in the Philippines in China, and Japan - This is something that should be of common knowledge to you.

Not to mention the fact that a lot of Korean K-pop companies white washed their idols in pictures and photos - A majority of Koreans do not have that fair white as a sheet skin - Is the product of an unfathomable amount of societal pressure to have lighter skin to fit a certain standard of beauty.

And no I don’t think I’m exaggerating the K-pop idol industry at all. The conditions for these K-pop idols are really that bad, and One sounds like you downplay the starvation diet downplay the pressure to get plastic surgery and downplay the use of skin whitening creams you’re adding into that societal pressure.

You can think whatever you like, but in reality I’m stating the truth of how horrible it is that “fans” like you expect these idols to go through that. This would never be acceptable in the west by any company and I’m under the impression that the only reason these fans think it’s acceptable to treat these idols like that is because these societal standards in Korea are upheld by a bunch of fair skin Koreans who people are more inclined to think have good intentions toward these idols even though they don’t

If you think the Kpop diet is so bad then you haven’t seen mukbangs and saw that Kpop idols do them too as well as being offered tasty food in reality and variety shows, they eat a lot so stop assuming and over dramatizing it with starvation cuz that’s simply not the case if you watched those

Kpop industry is built and adapted to be around making Super fans and is good at it sadly.
Superfans tend to be crazy, extreme and annoying and would go out there way to pay tons just to meet them or go to see them etc you could probably sell them a standard poster for $50 and they would buy it.

Of course most musicians want superfans and try for that.
But Kpop seems to be able to do it much more effectively and they probably do sketchy things to do it, like i've heard stuff about some Kpop girls are told to stave themselves and stuff.

A lot has to do with how idols are marketed. The whole thing is this creepy "idol" "fan" relationship. Ifols are marketed as available to these fans like they love them. And that creates a lot of insane people who feed into the delusions that the idols are selling them
