Well, having 4+ cats at a single time is too much, food, litter, and the extras are expensive, but if you planning to "collect them" span them out in a few months/years. I think 2 is plenty, my family is large, so 2 is enough. It also depends on the cat's behavior and preferences with other cats. Some cats are a single-cat household preferred, but some like multiple cats like a whole litter with different cats together. It really depends if you plan on having multiple at the same time so they get along, avoid fights, or potential mating-
Until you become a cat lady
Just kidding lol. I lovee cats, but you have gotta be practical here. How big is your house? Do you have time to take care of the cats? Do you have what it takes to be a cat mom? Can you train them well?
Decide for yourself.
most kittens I've taken care of is four of them... and till they were three months old or so
very manageable... but I always get them adopted by different families, although must families prefer to have two to three cats
rare to see a family or person with just one cat, or those who have more than four
but yes, I do know exactly what you mean... because I've made calculations and figured that I could be able to keep 27 cats... and keep them all healthy and happy, lol
Cats are great pets.
And I like my women the same way I like my cats...
Independent, not too needy, able to take care of themselves in a pinch and not opposed to favoring more than one Tom in a given evening.
If they’ve got water, food, something to amuse themselves with and a place to go to the bathroom, they can make do.

4 cats is too many cats for any household. Unless you live on a farm. If you live on a farm, no more than 6 cats. These are the socially accepted maximum--essentially, these are facts.
You can however, be kinda iffy with only 3 cats. Depending on the rest of your vibe... people might start judging you before you hit the maximum.
0 cats at most - I mean if you collect all of them all you would have done was getting yourself in a position where you'd be directly ignored by the entire cat population until they need to eat and only if there is food to give - Now dogs - they're called man's best friend for a reason - You should get one of those
Two or three cats in a house or apartment is plenty. I've heard reports of a woman who had 40 cats in her small bungalow. Unfortunately, they were all underweight and mistreated.
If you're going to have a cat (or any animal for that matter), be sure to care for it.
A much more horrifying question:
How many people do you think walk around us, knowing or unknowingly being transgender?
Boys with a penis that never grows hair/is circumcised, who magically prefers boys (was born a girl but thinks he is just homo) - or girls with a pain down under that needs the neovagina they have dilated/stretched so it remains open - who magically prefer girls/thunk they are lesbian?
@Ninani the fact they don't know and go thinking they are simply not fertile... can confuse a straight person. And psychology is very different. Transgenders must date other transgenders, not binary/cis people
@Ninani so you are transgender - and want to get it on with the gender you were born with and surgically removed
@Ninani no one is born transgender, it is a butchering surgery. Why do you promote that?
@Ninani not when they later insist on sharing that pain with the wide world.
If you do butcher yourself - keep the pain of it to yourself afterwards. Or I will shove it down your throat and finish the abortion of yourself you have started, dispatch you for good.
@Whatthefluff Three Cats is the max, unless you have a large house, then maybe 4. There's a lot of people who might need a cat or two in their lives, and cats do love a family environment. It's best to make sure all the good cats have a good home. Always be nice to the strays, they do a hard job.
I think 2-3 is the recommended amount. I don't have any but as a kid we had 27 at worst 7 adults and 20 kittens that was a wakeup call. We limited the possibility for felines to make kittens after that.
In an appartment, 5th floor: ONE would already be too many.
In a rural environment a cat population of several will not harm as long as they can move around freely.
For ''family life'' I'd find two just right.
when im at my place in bulgaria i seem to collect cats or they collect me... either way at the end of the two weeks i will have around ten regular visitors
When there's more fur balls than dust in your house, that's too many.
When your house smells like a litter box, that's too many.
When you spend more on cat food, visits to the vet and toys, than you do on make-up and clothes, that's too many.
one would be enough for me but I could have many, I would just neglect all of my responsibilities in life to give every single one of them attention, love and plenty of cuddles hahaha
I lived in an apartment once, where the previous owners had four or five cats. Years later I still found cat hair in the silliest locations. 🙀
One is too many! 🤣
Now being serious, 1 is enough. We have a dog as well and couldn’t imagine more. We love em
As house pets 2 is a nice number, but I'd love to run a cats sanctuary one day.
C > 1 = infinite litter box work
I have 3, started with 7. one cat is sometimes too many.
You need a kennel license for more than five where I am.
3 cats is too many lol
1 is fine. 2 is fine. 3 gets a little crazy lol
Well, in our City we are allowed 4 cats or 3 cats and 1 dog
or 2 dogs and 2 cats but that is how it goes in our city
Since I'm allergic 1 is too many. Which is unfortunate because I like cats and every cat I have been around loves me. Even the meanest cats around like my company for some reason.
There is no magic number. It depends upon your ability to take care of them properly and to make sure they're not neglected. Some people are only able to take care of two, others moreso.
Depends how big your place is and how much time you have to take care of them and cuddle with them
When people outside your house can smell the cats. That's too many.
So like. . . 10, right?
I have two, but like I said. . . Pokémon
My husband and I have 4 cats and 2 dogs. I love animals.
Though more than 4 cats, I'd probably lose track of them.
Any more than two for my house would be too much. It depends on the size of your house I think (: my mom has room for four.
I have a friend that has 20+. Anonymous cause this might actually identify me to some people lol
its a lot of work to clean up after them , if you don't mind doing that go for it
I say no more than two or three. Or whatever you can't afford.
I have two cats and our nephew brings his cat when he stays. I'd say four is plenty
One
Cats are dumb
If you have more than one, you're a cat rancher.
you can never have too many cats
When you're spending more on them, than yourself.
You can never have too many cats! <3
I had two, that was enough.
As far as I am concerned 1 cat is 1 to many.
Can never have enough
2. Cats aren't Pokémon.
Probably more than two
I’d say more than 2 would be too many for me
More than one is too much get a dog
More than two and you're The CatLady
More than 5 is a lot more than 10 is way too many
I am allergic, so one is too much.
3 when your house smells like cats.
Enough to make your house stink
For me, 1.
I do not like cats.
3 is a household / 4 is a crowd
Depends how big is your house.
There's never enough cats! 😻

I wouldn’t mind 2 to 3 pussies.
Depends on ur house size
