Being average is good and so is being invisible sometimes. I personally am happy that I am average. I wouldn't want to be very good-looking as I would attract attention all the time. It would feel like being a celebrity and everywhere you go everyone looks at you. That is hard as those people need privacy too.
I am happy that I am average as when I can have the best of best worlds: attract attention when I want and be "invisible" at other times.
So be happy with what you have.
I think some guys don't know how good they look. Average is actually good. And especially for men, being and looking healthy is what is considered attractive.

Try to fake your confidence. Someone who’s confident attracts more people no matter what you look like. Even if you don’t really feel confident on the inside, try to hold yourself well, be friendly and dress nicely. Be careful not to come off as arrogant or cocky though. Hope this helps :)
