Do you like structure or go with the flow?

Honestly I like structure not saying that things don’t happen but I would like to have a plan

I tried to go with the flow for a month or two for one dude. Biggest damn waste of time lol. I’m a routine person and i like having an outline or plan with B-Z backup plans. Now being routine doesn't mean i like to do the same thing daily. I can only do the same thing for a month. I have to switch it up month to month. After 3-5 months, then i can go back to what i started with. For example with hobbies... month 1, i’d be all into things like drawing or writing. Month 2, i’d be into puzzles, wordsearches, checkers, and online pool. Month 3, i’d be into watching movies, listening to music, and collecting cds and dvds. Month 4, i’d be into working out, shopping sprees and collecting skateboards. Month 5, i’d be into going to the casino and traveling random places. After that, then i start over with what I was doing month 1. So i’m a rotating type routine person because I burnout on things quickly. Sadly the same happens with relationships. If you’re not what I’m into by the end of 1-3 months, i rotate to the next dude. I’ve just been this way with all of the above for the last 10 years and i freaking love it 🤷‍♀️ I’m stubborn and its hard to get me spontaneous and out of my comfortzone. Like dont even waste your time trying to change me. Just get with the program or get tf out

Depends on the activity/problem, my experience with it, and who I'm doing it with.
Like cooking, if it is something complex or it requires precise measurements, I want structure the first time in. After learning the nuances of a complex recipe, I will then lift the structure, and experiment. If I'm cooking with a person who is experienced with the dish, then I'll toss in requests, like adding chocolate or different cheeses, depending on the dish.

If we're talking about hiking, distance jogging, or adventuring through a safe area, then I enjoy winging it.

Just realized that you're probably talking about a romantic relationship, and if that's the case, then it depends on the other person, and what your own expectations. Find out if the other person even wants structure, and I would say lean towards less structure is best to start with, unless you're really into each other and you're both monogamous.

For me, it mostly depends on if there's a clear goal or not. Because if there is, then my high conscientious side kicks in. Which will want there to be structure to make things easier.

But if there's not a clear goal, then there's no need for the structure. Or at least there's no need for prioritizing it over everything.

And of course, even how much I value something can change the way that I go about it.

it really depends on what we would be talking about in here, there's a time and place for everything as well as different approaches to most things in life

if you make me pick one, I'll go with structure because I like to get stuff done... lol

Structure 100%. If you have a structure that means you are an organized person and that will help you in many other ways of life. If you are going simply with a flow, it is going to be a slippery slow, because eventually wind will stop and you be stuck in the middle of the ocean. You won't be able to go back and re-rout your course since you have no map in the first place and you cannot really go forward, because you have no functional sails.

Depends on what the situation demands. Or a healthy mix of the two. I guess most people are like that. If your options aren't flexible then there's a chance you might get screwed a big time.

For me,
Structured for- academic work, works place, big tasks.
Will go with the flow for- a day out, small to do lists...
Intergrated- shopping, adventure trips, travel, a new hobby.

I can´t go with the flow because I need structure to find my flow. On the hand I feel one could kill by trying to plan it so. I prefer structure but I can´t plan everything.

I've been watching a program with Gweneth Paltrow, and others, about sexual awareness, understanding, and exploring. It's on Netflix. Structure is good but sometimes you have to allow yourself some fantasies.
