When I was into firing powerful, home-made loads from my.44 mag, I designed a thing to pad the heel of my hand from the recoil. It had a thin piece of synthetic latex rubber sandwiched between two pieces of thin leather. It strapped around the thumb and back of the hand to stay in place and had a single velcro fastener.
I cut out the pieces and had a shoe repair guy sew it for me.
It was a really unique design, not restrictive, nothing like a glove, and other shooters thought it was awesome.
Why do I think I've seen that?
Hmmm. No idea. I've never seen anything like it, but I'm sure there are similar ideas. There are some way more powerful handgun calibers than.44. That shit can bruise. LOL
My idea came from those shoulder pads people use when firing powerful rifles or even shotguns. I had one when I was into shooting trap.
I've definitely seen the shoulder pads.
I wouldn't say I'm a shooter, but I have been shooting a few times.
I invented an inexpensive clip that took the place of a very expensive security cable. One of my former customers was a machine shop and they were able to make hundreds of these clips. Enough for every piece of equipment I had to secure. I probably saved at least ten thousand dollars.
Have you tried selling those?
They probably copied yours after first seeing if there was a patent on it.
Why did they invented that toilet grill? I mean do they want to eat food fresh or food with the taste of already digested? Anyways for me I haven't exactly invented anything but I use life hacks (not the phony one of 5 minutes craft or crafty panda! But my own). So yeah I can find a quick solution which can be life savior lol. I don't know if this counts or not but I also create or write poems, songs, horror stories and novels.
Yes, I think inventing a story should count.
When I was a young girl I had to watch my younger siblings while my mom only help out her self I was left alone to take out the stroller and take out the car seat and install the car seat in the stroller this happened back in 2005 now years later the infant carseat with wheels was invented lol 😂 who would know this items that came up in our minds someone will invent them.
Oh yeah! Lots of those, "I wish someone would make _________."
Theirs even the snooth bassinet that makes babies sleepy.

Apparently empathy as nobody around me seems to have it

I was getting fed up of buying cans after cans of air freshener for my furniture and for my room because I smoke all the time. So I decided to make my own freshener for the air and for the furniture. I take spray bottle, fill it up with water halfway, then I take two different air fresheners and sprayed in the bottle then I shake it up mixing it together and then I use the spray bottle. Sometimes I fill it with ice. That way I don't have to keep emptying cans after cans of air freshener to keep my apartment in bedroom smelling nice especially after I come home from work.
I dont get it, u still buy air freshener and use them
I designed a couple of custom mounts for satellite dishes back when I was doing that kind of work. I worked with a woman whose business fabricated other stuff, and her company made them for me and others. I never tried to make money off of them - I'd probably have made a couple hundred bucks a year at most anyway - I just wanted them for MY company to use, and by letting her sell them, it made it worth it for her to make them.
It didn't matter much in the end, as the big satellite TV companies got sued and got rid of third-party contractors and brought the installation business in-house, so I had to find something else to do anyway.
Hey bro if you can dream it you can do it.. if I was you I'd follow through
I have a couple inventions one of them I can't tell you about because I don't like anybody to hear it and think about it and do it before I get done if the other one is a cologne that is so beautiful of smells so fresh and clean I hate every clone this out there for guys just about but I like this one everybody likes this cologne
"Bro" ?
My phone says what it wants too.
Sadly, no. Would be cool. I secretly have an interest in product design. But I ain't even close to good at it.
I think it's one of the coolest ways to leave your mark. Especially if it's something people both need and want to use because it aesthetically and functionally rocks.
I hadn't thought of it as leaving one's mark. That's a great perspective!
I had a dream about turning coca cola into a coffee and the next day i woke up to a coca cola coffee commercial like wtf!! And also, i came up with a company name for my fashion store in 8th grade. The teacher made us present it to the class. 12 years later, its a company with that exact name! One that no one could ever guess… its not a fashion store but its gift related
Are you going to share the name of the store with us?
I rather not. One day i’ll sue those mfs and show them my dated class project
Then again, i didn't trademark the name. Fck 😂💀
I wouldn't say I've invented anything, but I have been the lead scientist on teams that have developed new medical practices that are now in mainstream use in some countries.
That sounds pretty intense!
It's basically one of the end goals of my job.
Study the of effectiveness of current practices and treatments, research, theorise, and test new practices and treatment processes, and then publish a paper for peer review.
I love it, although I currently work in the private sector, I'm looking at moving to a university so I can do my PhD in a better environment.
A friend of ours does something similar from the medical side. I actually like listening to him talk about what he's working on.
Wow, that picture is really really gross! But to answer your question…like you, I’ve had several ideas for inventions, but have never brought them into reality.
Yeah, that was my first reaction too. 🤢
I haven't invented something that would be patentable. I did create some software many years ago, early in my career, that was used to efficiently and safely monitor train movements.
That sounds like something that could be utilized for other tracking purposes. Did you do anything with it?
I have a patent pending on a system of modular sensors on a cellular connected motherboard. It's oddly specific but you know, that's how parents be.
Sounds exciting. Best wishes!
I got a patent for a computer algorithm, so I suppose I did. I'm not really a fan of software patents but there's one with my name on it.
Nice! Congrats!
Yep, A board game , called Match Pitch Baseball , A game where batter tries to predict pitch. Never sold it because I was told there are too many baseball games out on market. I still think electronic version would have been a hit (no pun)
You could sell that easily!
well this was back in 1990 , I doubt they would buy it now. I could shark tank it.
happy birthday , I see you are now 46 . What did you get from hubby , more dished to wash? lol
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Don't speak of it.
what? birthday? hey wait until you are 50, it really changes
Ohhh... You want to be mean now? I'd say you're living dangerously, but I can't reach you.
I will never be *that* old.
New subject! 👿
I actually had come up with ideas with a few things over the years, that later on, I saw in stores! LOL... Too funny... It's like, "I thought of that also!"
Nah but anything to do with eating off a toilet makes me sick lol
I wouldn't eat anything of that grill either! 😂😂😂
a switch for the older computer it sold well for six month then another company made one with loads of money for adds
Nice!
Yeah I'm a plumber and I actually invented the thing in the picture
It's awesome.
I have a few concepts but nothing really engineered yet. Besides, being an design engineer, I came up with new stuff almost every day for work.
The world is lucky to have creative minds at work!
I’ve had ideas a long time ago that I never pursued and then eventually somebody came out with it
Was it the humanoids?
Same. I had an app idea that someone else came out with 2 years later and made billions. They didn't get it from me because I didn't tell anyone my idea.
Yeah that’s problem someone else will eventually come up with it
@Alwayreckles93 no I used to think about a certain tools that hadn’t been invented yet that would be useful and years later someone came out with it
For sure you do deserve some credit for having a intelligent mind.
@Alwayreckles93 Thanks
I invented Pockets... everyone has them, I didn't make 1 red penney from it
Pockets are great!
I have too many new ideas also most of them are never invented but I don't have sponsor for that...
Time to put those to work for you.
There are books that can help and info online. I have never patented anything myself, so I can't walk you through the process.
Yes, I've had a few ideas. I didn't patent any of them.
Mexican repairs... yes
What?
Nice plate
Yes and I have around ten patents for them.
Are you willing to share what some of those are? Maybe just what they're for or something that doesn't identify you?
They are for semiconductor equipment, bicycle suspension and clean energy
Yes I invented electric ballistic knives they don’t pierce skin because they’re actually just dull blades the shock is what makes them lethal
Nothing of significance.
I have not, but it would be cool if I did one day.
Love shit like that!
It's funny like a corny joke. I love corny jokes!
disgusting
Don't worry, I think it was new. It's funny. This had to be done by a man.
mind reading
Oh, that's handy!
I invented post-its
Nothing 🤷♀️
Is that really an invention? Or just poor people?
