What's this you've said to me, my good friend? Ill have you know I graduated top of my class in conflict resolution, and I've been involved in numerous friendly discussions, and I have over 300 confirmed friends. I am trained in polite discussions and I'm the top mediator in the entire neighborhood. You are worth more to me than just another target. I hope we will come to have a friendship never before seen on this Earth. Don't you think you might be hurting someone's feelings saying that over the internet? Think about it, my friend. As we speak I am contacting my good friends across the USA and your P. O. box is being traced right now so you better prepare for the greeting cards, friend. The greeting cards that help you with your hate. You should look forward to it, friend. I can be anywhere, anytime for you, and I can calm you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my chess set. Not only am I extensively trained in conflict resolution, but I have access to the entire group of my friends and I will use them to their full extent to start our new friendship. If only you could have known what kindness and love your little comment was about to bring you, maybe you would have reached out sooner. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now we get to start a new friendship, you unique person. I will give you gifts and you might have a hard time keeping up. You're finally living, friend.

Of course, when hitler died after the whole conflict of ww2 started by him it resolved the problem aka him.
Now did WW2 cause lots of problems yes. But one cannot say it didn't resolve with hitler dying during a massive conflict.
Conflict will solve a problem but can cause many more or none at all. Also you need conflict for their to be a problem so there is that.

Of course conflict resolves problems. It's the quickest and easiest way to just let results decide.

The problem is the methodology of the conflict, since the conflict itself is the decision maker. Is the best fist fighter going to be the best general for an Army? Is the most manipulative person going to be the best boss? Is the country with the bigger army going to serve its people best?

The thing to do in the modern world, where we have the full benefit of democracy and global orders is to decide what conflict is permissable and valid, and what isn't and is vapid and hollow. The problem, naturally, is that this makes a pre-conflict conflict. A political conflict which means more than the actual conflict.

That's why massive, massive intelligence organizations in every major country spend an enormous amount of time and effort investigating and trying to manipulate public opinion in democracies. Elect the right people, win the right political bout, and you avoid war entirely. Even in war, though, we have turned from generic propaganda to full on PSYOPS.

This is where I'll throw in the whole passive aggressive personality type. Lets say you have a mega alpha bully boyfriend, who beats the crap out of anyone that looks at you.

He is tough and wins all the fights, well when he gets a one or more guys that don't just accept defeat they move to a different tactic, such as getting a bunch of friends to turn his new truck upside down in the middle of the night and torching it.

So to say conflict resolved anything in his case, I'd say no... it just changed tactics. One could be said of war. Defeated people just change tactics to finds a different way to cause damage.

It only resolves a problem is people are willing to accept defeat.

Oh and yeah that guy didn't take long to become an ex boyfriend.

Unless they are killed then it's pretty hard to change tactic then lol.

@Kaneki05 True but killing some may create more, like when the US accidently bombed that wedding party, killing a lot of innocent people. No doubt they created a few hundred more fighters.

Well no, in its inherent meaning conflict is a disagreement, if you can never come to any kind of agreement then the problem will never be "resolved". The only way to actually resolve a problem is having both sides reach an agreement through compromise to a satisfactory level for both parties, only then can you classify it as resolved.

without actually googling it up, i would say that by definition "conflict" means that there is not a solution. so conflict itself does not solve anyhting. it's just one stage in the phases that can either lead to extended conflict or a possible solution depending on how you do it and what you do.

Violence is the most inefficient way to resolve issues. But at least it’s easy to understand who the enemy is.

    Depends on the problem.

sometimes conflict is necessary to resolve certain kinds of problems. And other times problems can be resolved without conflict.

Sometimes. Not very often because it's usually calm conversation and being an adult that's the highway to resolution. But every once in a good while, a certain conflict is needed to clear the air, so to speak.

Maybe in a sense that after enough loss the two parties don't find the conflict worth fighting about anymore.
