This is normal to be distrusting at my age?

I'll be turning 35 on April and don't trust easily like years ago. For instance if someone says I'll earn free vacation trips and win prizes, my immediately response is an ''Oh shut up. What's the catch? How much will all this cost me?'' or ''I ain't giving you my CC # bye''.

Someone that's being too kind, same thing. I'll think they want something in return. If someone ask for money because of a ''family crisis'', I'll immediately assume they're lying and refuse to lend my money.

This might sound mean but I've become distrusting at this moment. Is this normal at my age?

I already feel that way now. Been hurt a lot, so nothing surprising there. I trust those who give me reasons to trust them. I do have some minimal trust in everyone, but that's that. Machiavellianism does partly depend on age and how much your life has sucked so far, lol.

I got scammed big time by a long-term user (he wanted to marry me for money and wealth; he was the type that would be capable of marrying even an older, unattractive woman for money... ewwww) and lied to by a couple people in the past. The user owes me money from years.

Yeah I've undergone so much that it makes sense why I'm distrustful nowadays. I don't give money to anyone except my mother and maternal grandma.

trusting easily is stupid anyway. or naive. it's probably better for you to not trust easily. but the downside is that trusting takes a lot of courage then.

I used to be naive until last year. I snapped out of it by October and haven't ever been the same since.

It really sucks that when you were a very sweet, generous person and pure of heart, it takes bad people or users to destroy it; forever changing you.

yeah betrayal sucks. take your time to recover. maybe trusting a bit harder is beneficial after all. because we live in a world full of assholes, so it's better to be careful...

Experience made me have common sense. It took me long to learn but eventually I caught up to it.
