From April to October I am on the safety team at a major road course racetrck. I have a a 26 foot trailer that I live in, and after about 4 or days it starts to feel a little small.
I don’t need anything major. Long as it’s cozy and cheap and mine

No thank you. My mom lives in a trailer home which is probably about the same size or a little bigger than the pics you posted. I lived with her for a little bit and I couldn’t stand it.
My room was so small that even the tiniest mess would make the whole place look like a disaster. I didn’t have enough room for my stuff at all and no matter how I organized the room it was way too cluttered.
I couldn’t imagine living in a room like that with another person. Or living in a small house with a kid and trying to fit all their shit in an even smaller room.
I’ve thought about it for many years. Unfortunately it’s not as simple as it appears. Depending where you live it may actually be illegal to live in a tiny home full time (zoning laws, minimum dwelling size requirements. Some places require you to be hooked up to sewer, water, and electricity) And while many people would say just go for it. I’ve had enough jealous, shitty neighbors to know someone would report me. And that would be that. So unfortunately no sense in going for it in my opinion. Unless you know you can in your area or you have enough property where you aren’t likely to get ratted out.
Very true they are illegal here in most of the state. well then they can't over tax you with property taxes and state city taxes etc if you have a tiny home or smaller home like 500 sq feet
Maybe "sorta"? I'm not poor but I live in Japan, so even the best home I was able to afford after I settled down with my wife probably makes even most people in the US look rich in comparison.
I remember going to this family in the US and they were complaining about how they aren't so wealthy while they had a massive couch, surround sound speakers, huge television, tall ceilings, huge bedroom, kitchen, drier (didn't have to hang their clothes outside), dishwasher, and I was amazed. This is like a mansion!
They didn't earn much money (I earned far more) but their home was so, so much better and spacious. So to me, tiny home by Western standards is a normal one. Trailer parker might be a challenge but that's not so different from the studio apartments I lived in when I was single.
Considering in 1900 the average home in the United States was around 700 sq/ft I wouldn't mind. Many people buy carts full of junk food, $30,000+ cars (or lease cuz having a "luxury" car is more important than money management), unlimited data plans cuz they "need" unlimited data for some reason, despite the fact little done on a phone that uses large data is a necessity - the largest consumption (social media, video, etc.) is entertainment, or buy SUVs, which have continually grown in popularity, then complain about gas prices.
Many people are too much addicted to their surroundings (i. e. can't be happy w/o external stimulation) to be content in frugality (i. e. plenty to satisfy anyone's basic needs, so long as they're not addicted to milking their brain for emotional "hits" like an addict).
Basically they complain about never having money, then like asking an addict to quit drugs that are destroying them, excuse why everything they spend unecessarily on is necessary, often going to any lengths to justify their drugs, as I hear few reply at these points, "you're right, this is impractical, I'm going to stop spending on unlimited data (or whatever else) right now", instead, nearly all will either excuse their behavior, often regardless how irrational the excuse, or give a "yeah, I'll think about it" then put it out of their mind as if it was never said, then continue complaining about money a day, hour, week, year later.
I used to watch those Tiny House TV shows. People all said how cool they were. But then I was looking on a Tiny House sell site and saw all these same houses these people on the show praised that were for sale. The people found that they needed more room and couldn't live in them full time any more than they could a similar sized trailer. And these people with 3 kids too? What a joke!
Absolutely not. I have a regular house (and lived in 900-1200 sqft apartments) and it's barely big enough. I can not imagine how annoying it would be to live in a tiny house or NY style apartment. Having to constantly shuffle stuff around in order to live/cook/sleep.
I would never want to live in a tiny house but I have dated a few tiny women and they were fun!
lol.
Only if I was really desperate, ie it wouldn't be a choice. But a tiny house is definitely better than being homeless so...
I think it's only a good idea for a single person which I'm not planning on being.
maybe, if it were just me and my husband it would be nice and cozy but we have two kids. We are actually looking more at getting a ranch of some sort because while I like cozy I love space and I hate naibours for the most part.
No, even though these homes are clever and efficient I think I need the space to stretch out and also to hide when my wife is mad.
i'd like to live in a relatively small house, but definitely not tiny lol.
A tiny home in the middle of nowhere has been a dream of mine for years.
Maybe for like a small vacation but not for a permanent situation.
No. I saw that Geico reality TV show.
No. I would manage to do something stupid or crazy, well probably both at once and there goes my rolling down the street! with me chasing it in my underwear.
People already do, they just don't look like conventional houses on the outside.
Just knowing someone can hear me walk, excercise, fart, or even just sit down is not the way I wanna live.
I’m probably too tall to walk upright in those things lmao
6’8 ceilings help a little, but I need 8-feet so I don’t bust my fingers up when I put my arms over my head to take a shirt off, or celebrate a big play by one of my sports teams I’m passionate about. I just know myself better than to think I’ll be able to have that awareness to not do it in the moment hahaha
the height requirement it 6.8 but can go as high at 13.5 ft
No way I could downsize to something that small. Not even close. It might be nice as a substitute for an RV or a small vacation cabin, but that's about it.
My family of 3 lives in a 1386 sq ft house (128m²), not including the basement or detached garage. Its small enough, thank you.
If I could - absolutely! The little red house is cute!
No. I would build & sell them to people who think it's a good idea tho.
No give me a cleaning robot and I won't ever have a to big house.
My family is really, really tall. It wouldn’t work.
I'm not against it theoretically.
I'd kind of like to have something bigger, but I could accept living in a "tiny house" for a bit if that's where destiny led me.
I’ve thought about it. Maybe if I ever got a second home somewhere I would go the tiny home route
If it makes sense financially and I am living alone I would.
Yeah. I think it's cool and probably better for the environment if everyone did it.
Not unless I lived in a place where the weather was perfect.
I think it would be really fun lol
Yep on the middle of nowhere as well
In**
I'd love to build one and travel around in it.
Only if i never had kids
as long as its about 500 square feet im set
If i was single? Hell yea, 100%
Always wondered if I could fit in one.
No way. My garden is bigger than some of those
I do not like too tiny houses 🏡 lol
For sure. Now! if possible
Nope, minimalism is the worst.
But we have to dress up like Barbie and Ken
Only if the bathroom was downstairs.
yes its less expensive than a house
In America a lot of cities don't allow those.
If it was affordable, sure.
Yeah, absolutely
I want a tiny home
Nope.
Maybe
no fricking way
Elon Musk did
No thanks
Yeah I might
Like a minimalist?
