You have to admit that 15 cm sounds a lot bigger than 6 inches.
So, if size does matter, why isn't the US on the metric system?

It's mostly due to public resistance.
Washington already passed legislation, like the "Metric Conversion Act of 1975" (Public law 94-168).

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (N. I. S. T.) also has a page on metric-policy.

But, the public is largely resistant and/or unfamiliar with the system. (I even heard someone use "kilos" as a unit of measure for distance, while she was on a vacation to Italy.)
Do you know why women are so bad at judging distance?
Because they've been told their whole lives that 6" is a foot.
The metric system is based on the number ten because we have ten fingers. That would confuse the 12 finger population of Alabama.
@purplepoppy Sorry to correct you. They have 8 fingers and 12 teeth. 😲
This made me laugh ngl 😂

Don't most Americans get confused with the metric system though? Imagine getting cm and mm mixed up 🤣
US cares a whole lot more for money than anything else, that´s why... lol
They do seem to have an affection for the 9mm bullet
The US should be on metric. It makes no sense why they aren't. They just want to be different I guess hahaha
I really have no idea. Most of the world uses metric.
Hitting a homerun? The most difficult thing to do is take a round bat and send a round ball 400 feet. When I need a 10mm, is when I send a bullet through a carjackers face, through my car door.
It's fun to send a line drive 320 feet, however, it's more fun to send it in my teammates elbow. A sure out, but that's the funnest out ever. No one can say back to back triple dinger dinger followed by a sure lineout to his favorite baseman on the paths is not fun.
