If iron sharpens iron, does wood measure wood?
The US was actually one of the founders of Metric. If I remember right, France proposed the idea, and brought in the US and UK to work out the details.
The US does use a lot of metric, and in some cases for a long time. I learned metric and all the conversions in the mid-60s.
However, I don't think everything should go metric. It'll be a huge and expensive project that will cause a lot of problems. I don't think the minimal upside is worth it.
Besides, what does it even mean to switch to metric? People can, and will, use whatever system they want. It's not like the government can dictate what unit of measure to use. If they tried, everyone would ignore them. There is just no good compelling reason to switch that's worth it.
Lmfao 😂 is that your ceiling?
No, but I wish it was! 'Murica!!!
Ah yes, the tried and true American dream of having many dicks in your ceiling.
I'm partial to wall titties myself.
I before E except after C. I'm American, and this makes perfect sense to me. C has always been one of my favorite letters, and it deserves its own rules.

I don't mind riding in a car or taxi, but there's no way in hell I'm going to ride in a bus! I prefer to ride ON the bus, and it's the same with planes. I prefer to ride ON them, and not IN them. Yes, it gets quite cold on the plane, and it gets hard to hang on, but it's just the way I was raised.
I park in the driveway, and drive on the parkway. And I'm not about to change.
We’re Americans, and we rarely need stinking’ numbers for anything.

I think it's some French nonsense and it should stay there. We don't need it here in the greatest country on earth. Liters and meeters are just not very American. I like my gas in gallons and my distance in miles please. Eventually Europe will realize how silly their little system is and switch to the good imperial system
the USA has been using both for a long while... which is a good, great thing
it makes people smarter (it makes some people smarter, not everyone, of course lol)
The metric system is annoying. I never had any metric tools until recently. Now I find I constantly have to change from metric to standard when working on anything fromva car to a snow blower.
If I remember correctly, the U. S. was supposed to transfer to the metric system (at least B2B), but the Nixon administration shut that down?
Plenty of businesses use both when appropriate. Depends on the application. Mechanics use both imperial and metric.
Fahrenheit > Celsius. And I’ll die on that hill.
Too funny
